HADITH 17

Teachings:

1.In every faith some particular aspect of moral behavior receives more importance and an extra
ordinary emphasis is laid on it.

2. In Islam modesty is of fundamental significance.

3.The prophet says “Modesty is a part of faith.”

4.Modesty is an important trait in a Muslim.

5. It plays a vital role in his character building.

6. It restrains a person from behaving in an undesirable manner and thus it acts as a shield against
immoralities.

7. Modesty holds the key to piety.

8.It produces nothing but good in the individual and ultimately in society.

How to put these teachings into action:

1.This hadith teaches us to be modest because: ”Allah loves not the arrogant boaster.”

2. Allah demands that a believer should be modest in his behavior.

3. He must be humble and polite in meeting with others.

4.The prophet tells that believers must abstain from every kind of indecency.

5.Both men and women should lower their gaze and should not stare at each other.

6. People should have an in borne shame.

7.They should be modest in their dress also which should cover the body adequately.

8.The prophet tells that believers should eat what they feel like and wear what they feel like.

9.But they should avoid two things: extravagance and arrogance.

10. The prophet himself was the most modest person.
