comes across as a true scientist.

Q. 3. (B) Appreciation :
The title of the poem is ‘The Pulley’. The poet is George Herbert.
Each stanza of the poem has five lines. The rhyme scheme of the poem is a-b-a-b-a.
The chief figure of speech used in the poem is Metaphor. The ‘glass of blessings’
signifies the sum of all human qualities bestowed on man. The quality of ‘rest’ or
‘contentment’ is implicitly compared to a ‘jewel’. The other figures of speech are Pun,
Inversion, Paradox, etc.
The central idea of the poem is the reason for man’s continual restlessness all his
life. According to the poet, this is because God withheld the quality of ‘rest’ from
man, so that man’s thoughts would ultimately turn towards God, his creator.

to keep it. Time will pass whether we like it or not. We can recover money that has
been lost; we can even get back our health if we do things correctly. However, when
time is lost it is gone forever. Whatever we may do, we can never get it back. The
clock always ticks on and on and does not stop for anyone. People realize its value
only when they are older. Hence, we must be careful that we do not waste time and
use it fruitfully.
Q. 4. (B) Summary :
Time Management
   Time, which is a fleeting and intangible resource, is available to every individual.
We are guided by the time shown on a clock or announced on the radio, TV, etc.
to plan our activities. For the achievement of goals, proper time management is
very important. Time management means the effective and efficient use of time after
elimination of all time-wasting activities. A good time manager utilizes time properly
and invests it into productive work, without allowing time to flow and pass away
uselessly.
