Luke 7:41-43 One owed 500 silver coins, another person owned 50 silver coins. Those who are forgiven much shows much gratitude, but whoever has been
Two Debtors Moneylender cancelled their debts. forgiven little shows only a little love.
The one who was forgiven more = love the moneylender more.
Luke 8:4-15 Man went out to sow grain. Seed = Word of God; Sower: God
Parable of the PATH PATH
Sower = Stepped, and the birds at it up = hears Word, but Devil comes and takes message away from their hearts.
ROCKY GROUND = keeps them from believing and being saved.
= when the plants sprouted, they dried up because the soil had no moisture. ROCKY GROUND
THORN BUSHES = hears message and receive it gladly but does not sink deep to them.
= thorn bushes grew up with the plants and choked them = believe only a while, falls away during trials and temptations.
GOOD SOIL THORN BUSHES
= plants grew and bore grain, x100 = hears the Word, but worries and riches and pleasures of life crowd and
choke them, “fruit” never ripens

= hears message, retain it in a good & obedient heart, persist to bear “fruit”

Parable of the Good Man going from Jerusalem to Jericho, robbers attack, stripped, beat, leave half

Luke 11:5-8 Go friend’s house at midnight. Shows the effect of persistent prayer.

UNFAITHFUL
= master take long time, beats other servants, eats and drinks until he gets drunk Much more is required from the person that is given much more.
= master come back when he least expects,
= cut in pieces and make him share the fate of the disobedient.
Luke 13:6-9 Man had fig tree in vineyard. Looked for figs but found none. Do not take God’s gracious time for granted.
Parable of the “Look, for 3 years, I have been coming here looking for figs on this fig tree, and I

late.

Luke 13:22-30 Many will try to go through the narrow door but will fail. Those who are last will be first, and those who are first will be last.

“Open the door for us, sir!” It is whether Jesus knows us that allows us to enter the narrow door.

Luke 16:1-13 Servant managed rich man property. People of this world much shrewder in handling their affairs than the people

Luke 17:7-10 Servant plowing or looking after sheep. Doing the duty requires faithfulness and obedience.
Jesus Teaches on Do you tell him to hurry along and eat meal? No.
Forgiveness, Faith “Get my supper ready, then put on your apron and wait on me while I eat and Should not expect any reward because we are mere servants doing our duty.

Servant don’t deserve thanks for obeying orders. God rewards servants who serve without the thought of rewards.
Luke 18:1-8 Judge neither feared God nor respected man. God loves us, will he not help us out more?

Take gold coin and give to the servant with 10. “Sir, he already has 10 coins!”
Luke 20:9-16 Man planted a vineyard and rented it to tenants, and left home for a long time. We must recognize Jesus’ authority.
Parable of the Time to gather grapes, sent slave to receive his share of the harvest.
Wicked Tenants This emphasizes that Jesus opened up a way for Gentiles to have salvation.
Beat slave, sent the slave back without anything.
Another slave, but got beaten, shamed, and sent back without anything. Landowner = God
Third slave, got wounded, and thrown out. Slaves = prophets
Son = Jesus
“What shall I do? I will send my own dear son; surely, they will respect him.” Tenants = the Jewish community.
“This is the owner’s son. Let’s kill him, and his property will be ours!”
Threw him out and killed him.

He would come and kill those men and turn the vineyard over to other tenants.
