The first settlement in Madhapur, as it transformed into HITEC City in Hyderabad

was primarily commercial in nature.
The area was initially developed to house information technology and technology-
related companies
making it an IT and business hub. Residential developments in the Madhapur area
came later as the demand for housing for IT professionals and employees of these
companies increased.
So, the early settlement was predominantly commercial, with residential
developments following the growth of the technology sector in the region.
