1  Olivia usually spends her weekends with friends. She goes to the cinema, goes shopping for clothes or goes
rollerblading in the park near her house. Olivia does not tidy up her room at weekends because she does not
like doing housework because she thinks it is boring. Today it is Saturday, but Olivia isn’t meeting her friends.
She is staying at home and she is tidying up her messy room.
2 Kelly has got a biology lesson every Monday at 8.00 a.m. Today it is Monday, it is 8.00 a.m. but Kelly isn’t having
a biology lesson. She is in the school gym now but she isn’t having a PE lesson. Kelly is shouting and jumping
up and down. She is cheering for her basketball team to win.
3 My mum always makes a delicious breakfast for my dad and me. We usually have some tasty sandwiches with
ham or cheese and then some fruit salad for breakfast. But today, it is Mother’s Day and I am making breakfast
for my mum and dad. I am frying some eggs and making some delicious toast.
4 Hi! My name is Tom and I am crazy about hockey and ice skating. I have a hockey training session every
weekday and I play matches on Saturdays and Sundays. This weekend, however, my team and I aren’t playing
a hokey match; we are playing a football match.
5 Aunt Helen and uncle Joe love water, so they spend every warm, spring weekend sailing on their favourite lake.
In summer, they go to the seaside, they relax on the beach, swim in the sea and sail a lot. This summer, however,
aunt Helen and uncle Joe aren’t going to the seaside and they aren’t going to the lake either. They are spending
their holidays in the mountains.
6 My parents Chris and Ann usually spend some time at weekends at the theatre or at the cinema. They love
watching interesting plays and fascinating films. This weekend, they aren’t going to the cinema or the theatre
and they aren’t staying at home either. They are going on a two-day trip to Berlin.
