Generate Self-Signed SSL Certificate

Step: 1 Go to the Start menu & click on Administrative Tools > Internet
Information Services (IIS) Manager

Step: 2 Click on the server name in the Connections column on the left and
Double-click on Server Certificates
Step: 3 Click on Create Self-Signed Certificate in the Actions Column on the right.

Step: 4 Type any meaningful name and then click OK to proceed.


Step: 5 Click OK. Once that is complete you should now see the SSL in the list of
Self-Signed certificates. Now, you have IIS Self-Signed Certificate with 1 year
validation.

Binding of Certificate in Windows IIS

Step: 6 In the Actions pane on the right, click Bindings…


Step: 7 Click the Add… button.

Step: 8 The Add Site Binding window will open. For Type, select https
Step: 9 For IP address, select All Unassigned, or the site’s IP address.

Step: 10 For Port, enter 443.


Step: 11 Select the newly created certificate from the SSL certificate drop-down
menu.

Step: 12 You can use the View… button to get details about the selected
certificate.
Step: 13 Click the OK button to close the window.
