Creating a Microsoft Azure Account

Objective: To create an Azure Free Account

Tools required: None

Prerequisites: None

Steps to be followed:

1. Create Azure Free Account

2. Create Resource Group

Step 1: Create Azure Free Account

1.1 In a web browser, go to https://azure.microsoft.com/free
1.2 Select Start free.
1.3 Sign in with your Microsoft or GitHub account or create a free Microsoft account.

1.4 On the About you page, select your country or region. Enter your first and last name,
email address, and phone number. Depending on your country, you might see additional
fields, such as a VAT number. Select Next to continue.
 1.5 On the Identity verification by phone screen, select your country code and type the
number of a telephone to which you have immediate access.
1.6 You have the option of text or call-back to obtain a verification code. Select the relevant
button, type the code in the Verification code box, and select Verify code.
1.7 If the verification code is correct, you're asked to enter details of a valid credit card.
Enter the card information and select Next.
1.8 The last step is to review the agreement and privacy statement, then select Sign Up.
1.9 You have successfully set up a free account and should be on the Azure portal home
page.

Step 2: Create a Resource Group

2.1 On the Azure portal, click on Create a resource icon.
2.2 Search for Resource group.

2.3 In the Resource Group creation page, click on Create.

2.4 On the next page, provide the Resource group name and choose a region from the
dropdown.

2.5 Click on Review + Create button.

 2.6 Click on Create.

The resource group is created successfully.

After completing this demo, you would be able to create an Azure account and start using the
Azure services from the portal.
