Course Handout (Part II)
Date: 10/01/2024
In addition to Part I (General Handout for all courses appended to the Time Table), this portion gives further specific
details regarding the course.

Course No. : CHE F411

Course Title : Environmental Pollution Control
Instructor-in-Charge : S. D. Manjare

1. Course Description

Air & water pollutants; sampling and analysis; control methods for air & water pollutants; modeling of different control
techniques; advanced wastewater treatment processes; solid waste management, noise pollution; environmental management
systems; case studies.

2. Scope and Objective

This course aims at providing students basic understanding of air, water & solid pollutants sampling & analysis, and various
control / treatment technologies with mathematical models & various computational methods to solve these mathematical
models. This course will also help to understand the local / global environmental problems and suggest remedies to the problems
by conducting theoretical studies using mathematical models. Brief introduction to environmental management systems- a pro-
active approach for reduction in environmental pollution, will be provided. As a part of evaluation, projects / assignments
related to current environmental issues will be undertaken.
