1. GENERAL DESCRIPTION
1.1. SYSTEMS DESCRIPTION
The radar type level, pressure and temperature transmitters(TLP-100S series) of radar type cargo monitoring
system(TLP-100 system) are intrinsically safe apparatus that are applied in hazardous area, which are used for
measurement of level, pressure and temperature in cargo tanks..
The radar type level sensing part is not included in the equipment and a separate radar level transmitter is
used to measures level. Terminals for only connection between the radar level transmitter and other
intrinsically safe circuits are provided in the equipment. The pressure sensing part measures pressure by using
a pressure sensor. The temperature sensing part measures temperature by using separate RTD sensors(TLP-
100T). TLP-100S, the separate radar level transmitter and TLP-100T can be installed independently. But,
normally, the separate radar level transmitter and TLP-100T are connected optionally to TLP-100S according
to configuration of system and transfer the measured values to TLP-100S. TLP-100S relays the values of
level without any conversion to external equipment and converts the values of pressure and temperature to
digital serial binary code pulses for communication with external equipment. TLP-100S contains three
printed circuit boards such as a display board, a signal processing board and a terminal board for external
connection, and a pressure sensing module, which are housed within a stainless steel enclosures with a glass
window. Internal wiring for connections to the boards in the transmitter are made by using plugs and sockets.
The terminal board for external connection is provided for power supply, the separate radar level transmitter
and TLP-100T. TLP-100T contains one printed circuit board and maximum three temperature
sensors(PT1000Ω), housed in stainless steel enclosures. TLP-100S, the separate radar level transmitter and
TLP-100T are made by using cables via a cable gland.
Acquired The input to TLP-100S shall be limited within maximum electrical input parameters (Ui, Ii, Pi) by
connecting to certified intrinsically safe circuits or through safety barriers, and the output limited within
maximum electrical output parameters (Uo, Io, Po) shall be connected to the separate radar level transmitter
not affecting intrinsic safety adversely.

1.2. APPLICATION
The TLP-100 system is specially developed for tanker applications such as chemical, products and etc. It
also covers temperature measuring and pressure measuring in cargo tanks.
TLP-100 system is consist of the radar level transmitter, pressure transmitter, temperature transmitter(TLP-
100T), TLP-100B(Barrier for TLP-100) and RADAR barrier.
Radar is level transmitter for measuring cargo tank level, measurable product is gasoline, diesel oil, heavy
oil, kerosene and etc.. The pressure transmitter is a transmitter that measures the pressure of the inert gas in
the cargo tank. TLP-100T is a transmitter for measuring the temperature of a product in the cargo tank,
generally maximum measurement point is 3(tank top, tank middle, tank bottom). TLP-100B and radar barrier
is safety module for power supply and communication to the sensor in hazardous area.

<Sensor installation in hazardous area>

TLP-100S is composed of two PCBs, Pressure transmitter is composed of one PCB and one pressure sensor,
TLP-100T is composed of one PCB and temperature sensor(maximum 3 point).
