Company Profile
Summary of OJT Experience

I went to take my On-The-Job Training at Municipality of Cuenca because my mother is

also working there at RHU. I was assigned to Office of the Municipal Mayor as an Intern. I was
with Mr. Kim Dimaculangan, PIO Officer. Ms. Rochelle Sabihon, the Secretary of Municipal
Mayor. And Mr. Angielo Vicienco, Ms. Katherine Malabag and Mr. Darwin Agravante. The
main thing that I do is to encode, make schedules, log in and outgoing papers and create
endorsement letters.
I realized that it is important to be able to handle multiple tasks and have a good
communication skill. Working in this challenging environment gave me insight into what would
I face soon at work. I have gained enough knowledge about my chosen career, and I know this is
a great starting point. Mr. Kim Dimaculangan taught me about Excel, how to encode using
formulas and Visual Basic codes. We use XLSX as an app that can produce Scheduling outputs,
as well as appointments and Endorsements.
I know that Office of the Municipal Mayor is a bit behind in technology but for me it’s a
perfect fit for my on-the-job training program because I get to know the basic things which I
really need to learn. It is the basics things that will help us create what is unimaginable. It’s like
doing algebra but what you really only doing was to subtract, add, multiply, and divide. It’s just
how the way you see it, if you think it is hard before you do it, I think 99% you can’t do it, but it
is just basics plus logics. I learned a lot of things and experiences in that company when I’m on
my training program that will help my future career.
I am assigned in a team particularly in encoding medical, burial, and educational
assistance, but as for that day we focused on the website of the company. On the first month of
OJT, October, my task was to encode and log SOCE or the State of Contributions and
Expenditures. It was really tiring because we need to encode most of the Election candidates that
needs the notary of the Municipal Mayor. On the second month, November, I learned how to use
and repair the Biometrics log in and out which is the Crosschex. I learned how to produce DTR
or Daily Time Record of the Employees if they need it to attach it to their papers. Also I begin
encoding clients personal information for TUPAD.
On the third month of my OJT, December, we held a program “Pailaw sa Cuenca
2024”. I learned how to do livestream and video set-ups for the events.

Assessment of the OJT/Practicum Program

A. New knowledge, attitudes, and skills acquired.

B. Theories actually seen in practice.
C. Feedback that can be given to the company or institution
D. Benefits gained.
E. Problems encountered.

As an IT student undergoing On-the-Job Training (OJT), I developed an array of new

skills, acquired enlightening perspectives, and refined crucial abilities. My general
comprehension of the IT career was improved by the practical insights I gained from the hands-
on experience.
In terms of knowledge, I gained a deeper comprehension of how IT concepts and
principles are applied in the actual world. I was able to understand the subtleties of IT procedures
in a real work environment because to this practical exposure, which went beyond classroom
theory. I gained knowledge of cutting-edge technologies, business trends, and best practices that
are frequently underrepresented in academic environments.
Reflecting on my personal learning journey, I've come to understand the significance of
maintaining a positive attitude regardless of the workplace or circumstances. Embracing
positivity not only enhances overall performance but also contributes to the development of self-
confidence. Over time, I've transformed from being introverted to becoming more extroverted
and communicative with my colleagues. I now recognize the importance of trust within a team,
as it greatly influences engagement and fosters creativity among team members.
My experience in a collaborative work environment has exposed me to the dynamics of
teamwork and the synergistic efforts required for successful outcomes. Observing my supervisor,
I grasped the importance of respecting clients' time, prompting me to cultivate punctuality.
Through training, I've cultivated strong work ethics, realizing that they are crucial for
demonstrating genuine interest and dedication to one's work.
One key lesson was the realization that dependence on fellow team members is essential
for achieving collective goals. Initially, I tended to be overly self-reliant, attempting to tackle
tasks independently. However, I later acknowledged the significance of effective collaboration
within a team. This shift in perspective has significantly contributed to my personal and
professional growth.
The problems that I encountered during my OJT is the lack of technology. The facility
didn’t have enough tools and devices to work with and were still on the work with papers.
Another problem that I experienced was those undisciplined and self-centered staffs and
personnel. I know that every company has this type of person and I thank my instructors because
they teach me how to deal with it and I know when this happens again, I have the idea on how to
handle it. My OJT experience significantly improved my technical abilities. I had the opportunity
to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world projects, refining my programming,
troubleshooting, and system administration skills. Working alongside seasoned professionals
provided a platform for me to enhance my communication and teamwork skills, crucial aspects
in the collaborative world of IT.
