DESCRIPTIVE
SPEECH
INTRODUCCION
We all at some point seek to describe things we see and
find interesting, and imagine it, if you are looking to
share your experiences the type of speech you will employ
to describe your day at the beach or in the park is
"descriptive speech".
It is an oral presentation style that focuses on providing
a detailed and vivid description of a subject, object or
experience. The goal is to make a clear kind of picture in
the audience's mind, using words that relate to our senses
and emotions. This type of speech seeks to create an
emotional connection with the audience and convey
feelings, smells or sensations.
WHAT IS DESCRIPTIVE
SPEECH?
Its main objective is to paint in the mind of the audience and
describe in detail some kind of situation that we have lived
and we want to describe can be of any subject, place, object,
person, animal or experience, using a broad language so that
we can connect with the audience here we can express ourselves
in a more free and expressive way.

Characteristics:
1. Sensory Details: Focuses on stimulating the senses,
describing visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory and
gustatory aspects.
2. Vivid Images: Seeks to create clear and memorable mental
images in the audience's mind.
3. Emotion and Connection: Seeks to generate an emotional
response and establish a deeper connection with the
audience.
TIPS FOR MAKING A
DESCRIPTIVE SPEECH:
Evocative Language: Use words that evoke clear images and
emotions.
Sensory Variety: Engage all the senses to provide a
complete experience.
Coherent Structure: Organize your speech logically,
beginning with an intriguing introduction, followed by a
detailed practical example and concluding with a memorable
synthesis.
Intonation Practice: Adjust your intonation to highlight
certain aspects and maintain audience interest.
Connecting with the Audience: Consider the audience and
adapt your speech to resonate with their experiences and
emotions.
EXAMPLE
Close your eyes and visualize the blue ocean stretching out before you.
Feel the salty breeze caressing your skin as you listen to the gentle
murmur of waves breaking on the shore. The sand stretches along, offering a
soft carpet to walk on. You can even taste the salty breeze in the air,
listen to the seagulls happy for the sunny day, the children running and
throwing sand at each other while shouting and laughing, how the waves come
and go, the clear sky, and how little by little the sun is disappearing
while time goes by and you are just enjoying a beautiful day, you see the
sunset falling full of beautiful colors and when you least realize the
clouds take over the sky and you know it's time to go home with your feet
full of sand.

In conclusion, descriptive discourse is an effective tool for
conveying experiences and concepts in a vivid way.
