When vehicle voltage (terminal 30) fails, application values are lost, i.e Transmission Control Module (TCM) must learn
these values again when vehicle is started. During this renewed "learning", shifting quality may be worse than normal.

This malfunction will only be registered by OBD if it occurs 5 times consecutively after the ignition is switched off and on.

The signal from brake light switch -F is transmitted by the Engine Control Module (ECM) to the Transmission Control
Module (TCM) via the CAN-Bus wire.

Conditions for malfunction recognition: The signals of the brake light switch and of the brake test switch are transmitted via
the CAN-Bus wire to the transmission Control Module (TCM) and evaluated from there. In case of implausibility this DTC

For DTC 17100 / P0716:

Requirement for malfunction recognition: A drive mode (D, 4, 3 or 2) is definitely selected, no in-between positions. The
engine speed while driving is larger than 608 RPM. The transmission output RPM while driving is larger than 416 RPM.

The DTC will be displayed if the conditions for malfunction recognition have been met and the transmission input RPM is 0
RPM or larger than 8000 RPM.
