1. INSTALLING AND PLACEMENT

1.1. Mounting the “B” Type Wall Hung Boilers with Flue Duct

Caution: The mounting area and waste gas duct connection must conform the
instructions designated by Turkish Standards Institute and authorized bodies.

The wall hung boilers with flue ducts must not be mounted to areas with less than 8
m3 of volume and bedrooms, balcony, dusty environments, stairwells and random
empty areas in the building.

The waste gases that form due to combustion in wall hung boilers are exhausted by means of the
flue duct. Since the use of such devices at areas with air inlets and flue ducts not conforming the
specifications are dangeorus for human life, the Gas Company does not permit the use of gas.

The volume of your room must be equal to at least 0,6 m3 per each kW of the heat output of
your device. Practically you can estimate 1 m3 per each kW, for instance, for a device with
heat output of 24 kW, the volume of the room must be 24m3.
For supplying air for the room where your device is placed, an orifice must be made. (min
100cm2). The orifice must be made in a position both outside and inside the wall. Materials
which may obstruct the air flow should not be placed in front of the orifices.
These orifices must be preserved with unique grilled covers and no materials that may
obstruct the air flow must be put in front of it.
The air orifice must be on the wall or above the window. (As shown in the figure) .The orifice
below must be close to the floor and the orifice above must be close to the ceiling.
Or as it can be seen in the figure, one bottom orifice of minimum 150 m2 must be opened.

EXAMPLE: ENABLING THE SPACE FOR AIR INLET

Minimum 150 cm2

If these conditions are maintained, the air flow can be supplied from a place nearby :
 The place nearby must be directly ventilated;
Only devices connected to the ventilation pipes must be installed in the area to be
ventilated;
The nearby place should not be a garage, barn or storage place where fuels or
combustibles are stored;
Due to the counter flow effect of the nearby area, it should be at an area of low pressure
compared to the area to be ventilated. (The counter flow in the area may arise due to
another device operating with no air inlets or the presence of another aspiration device or
fireplace.);
The air flow from the place nearby to the installing area to be ventilated can be free due
to permanent spaces. The said spaces can be provided by keeping a wide space
between door and floor.

BAYKAN ISI SIST.SAN.TIC.AS.

-8-
EXAMPLEINDIRECT NATURAL VENTILATION

EXAMPLE FOR AIR CIRCULATION THAT ARISES DUE TO THE DIFFERENCE OF DENSITY

If air flow is insufficient, the combustion air may be supplied by an orifice from one
or more rooms nearby the installing room by air orifices as seen in the figure

1.2. Hermetic “C” Type Wall Hung Boiler Placement

BAYKAN 24-28-32 Hermetic Wall hung boilers are type C heat producers and they are not limited
by any regulations regarding the area of their installing.
The said devices can not in any case be installed in positions entertaining the risk of fire such as barns,
cellars, garages, unoccupied areas in buildings. It is forbidden.

Since the Hermetic devices supply the air for combustion from outdoor and not interior areas, there
is no obligation for an air orifice. There is no limitation of space considering the volume they are
installed in.

Caution : The installing area and waste gas discharge area must conform the directives
of Gas Distribution Company, TSI and international regulations.

• They must be positioned at a visible place, they must be easily dismantled and dryable, so regular
heat expansions may be allowed. It must have the sampling unit with the appropriate properties and
dimensions.
• The outlet of wall hung boiler must have the conditions of flue duct channel being vertical and not
having size smaller than twice the size. The said measurements are taken from the connection point
of the discharge point. (Figure Nr. 9)
• The surface beyond the vertical section must have a slope upwards with an angle of at least 3%.
The section with Sub-horizontal direction must be shorter than the height of H _ the duct or fume
pipe and must not be longer than 2500 mm.
• The flue channel must not be subject to changes of directions accomplished with internal corners
larger than 90° and more than three in number. This number includes the connection to the duct
or/and fume pipe. The directional changes must only be made with the use of bracket components.
• The axis of the outlet of fume channel must be vertical to the internal wall opposite to the duct or
fume pipe. (Figure Nr. 9). The fume channel should be fixed to the inlet of fume pipe or duct and it
should not decline inside.
• The length of fume channel must be larger than the section of the connection point of device to the
discharge. If the duct or fume pipe has a smaller diameter than that of the fume channel then a
tapered sleeve opposite to the connection point must be used.
• The fume channel should have no cutting apparatus such as a lid and if there are such apparatus,
then these must be taken away.
• The fume channel must be at least 500 mm. away from fuel or combustible materials or/and
flammable materials, if the mentioned distance can not be maintained, and then a specific protector
which can stand the heat must be provided.
• Only one device must evacuate through the fume channel,.

Using the fume pipes reserved for collective arms allows Figure Nr. 10
the connection of ancillary pipes having a nominal heat
capacity not changing more than %30 compared to the
connectable maximum heat outcome.

The discharge of hood uptakes must either have a

common pipe reserved for arms or separate ducts for
such a purpose.

Only one boiler per floor must be connected to the

common pipe.

The maximum number of boilers that can be connected

to a common fume pipe with arms is five. Thus it can
only provide service for only a six storey building, for as

mush as the boiler at the top floor directly evacuates to
atmosphere.

The ancillary pipe of the common fume pipes separated

into parts must be as high as the room at least and
should not enter the collector with an angle less than
135°’
The minimum height above the connection point to its
extension on the roof (the fume pipe of last device) must
be equivalent to 3 meters.

FOR DEVICES TYPE C (closed chamber)

The suitable waste gas discharge kits recommended by the manufacturer must be used.

Some examples concerning the installation of discharge kits have been given. It is vital that the
specified maximum distances concerning these must be observed (see the table on page 3). It should
also be predicted that each bracket placed on the surface will cause the maximum length shorten by
one meter.

In addition, it is recommended that the fume discharge pipe must be covered in cases its length
exceeds 8 meters.
(just the case for the kit divided into two).

The waste gas duct connection must conform with the conditions specified in the regulations of
TSI and local gas distribution companies.

WALL HUNG BOILERS WITH FLUE DUCTS

The boiler must be connected to a duct before use. The duct of wall hung boiler must not be
connected to stairwells or windows. The duct of wall hung boiler must not be connected to
stairwells, opening areas for light or windows.
The waste gas pipe must be connected to the duct as shortly as possible. The
imperviousness at the connection points must be maintained.
The duct height must 4 meters.
While using single brackets, the horizontal length of duct pipe must be 2 meters.. While using
two brackets, the length of the duct pipe must be maximum 1 meter.
As for the wall hung boilers in the attic storeys the horizontal length must be 1meter max.
and single bracket must be used.
The diameter of duct pipe must be 130mm for 24kW devices, 140mm. for 28-32 kW devices.
Waste gas pipe must be connected to the duct with a little slope.

Caution: Duct channel must be cleaned once a year.

HERMET‹C WALL HUNG BOILERS

The flue kit provided with the device must be installed properly and you must ensure that it does not
leak. The Duct kit is composed of connection bracelet of two pipes having a 60/100mm diameter and
impervious materials. The waste gas discharge of hermetic wall hung boilers must be directed to
outside.
The waste gas system operating at inclined position should have a 3% downward slope.

CAUTION : The maximum allowed pipe length should be diminished by 1 meter at every
bracket insertion.

There are examples of duct kit connection shapes. In order for the device perform well, the
maximum dimensions given hereunder must be considered.

It is recommended that pipes longer than 8 meters should be isolated. (just at the parallel pipe
connection).
