biography
I was born in Budapest, Hungary in 1991 and now I live in London, UK. I studied
Hungarian folk art and ceramics in college. During this time, I signed up for academic
painting and drawing courses where I spent most of my free time. After this experience,
I studied fine arts, painting in master’s level at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts
where I have been evolving my art through several phases.
Studying art history influenced my creative thinking and opened my perspective.
Gauguin’s ‘Where do we come from? What are we? Where are we going?’ painting
made me think about how I would answer these questions in my paintings about life.
Later I found abstract expressionism especially Jackson Pollock and Mark Rothko
inspiring. Later my attention turned to Agnes Martin’s works on my journey. Recently I
have a strong connection to Louise Bourgeois’ art works.
I usually work on a series of paintings to explore the questions that I am interested in. In
this sense, I focus on more universal themes that derive from life experiences,
relationships and in general, being human. I am interested in themes that may affect all
of us with no exclusion for instance, mortality. I believe that my paintings are pieces of a
creative journal reporting aspects of a journey throughout a colourful life in an abstract
reality.
My new series of paintings are about mortality; questioning all that “written in the stars”
destiny and fate, inevitable coincidences and life events.

‘thread of life’ series
A series of paintings that focuses on mortality and the mysterious cycle of life including
destiny, fate, and inevitable coincidences.
• This series was created in 2022 and reflects on the Greek myths of the Thread of life
that was spined, drawn out, and cut by the Three Fates: Clotho, Lachesis, and Atropos.
• In this story, each human and God had a thread uniquely measured that represented
the given lengths of time to live.
• The Fates would not interfere with decision-makings throughout the given time span.
Decision making, however, would change the experiences and quality of life, yet
nothing would change the timing.
• With the abstract “submerging” technique, the colours mixed randomly. The thread is
measured and semi-directed to find its way through.
• The format of the complete paintings was inspired by The woven child, Louise
Bourgeois exhibition in the Hayward Gallery, London.
• Every picture is framed to represent the timeframe of each story.

‘golden circles’ series

”The perfection of circle pleases the eye, and it can be observed that nature almost never tends
toward any other form.”
Raphael, Letter to Leo X, 1519

The theme of this series was painting the gold and its shine.

• The series of my gold paintings inspired by Agnes Martin required discipline.

• Gold symbolises naturality and self-knowledge.

Gold is a material that can be found itself, created by nature and can be shaped into any form by
effort, imagination, and creativity of people.

‘circles in colours’ series

A series of paintings that focuses on human completeness and integrity.

• The series of ‘circles in colours’ was created in 2017/18 with the artistic intention of
connecting people in a painted atmosphere that provides quality space to think and
feel for the audience.
• It reflects on strong emotions such as feeling happy, sad, amused, isolated, breathless
etc. that we all experience as human beings regardless gender, race or any other
features that may diversify us in reality.
• The abstract concepts built on duality that derives from simplicity and symbols from the
European history of art such as circle and square that as examples are the symbolic pair
of masculinity and femininity. These also often used in Eastern culture such as mandalas
to lead to human completeness.
• For this series, the linen canvas is primed by the artist to create the right surface for
each painting and the main colours are hand mixed from own developed recipes. This
gives them a special touch.

‘light from within’ series

The themes of this series were ‘light within’ and hope.

• The series was painted as a continuity of the series of ‘yellow arches’ with a particular
focus on the necessary contrast to bring ‘light’ to life
• The first series where the dual concept of circle and square appeared. Playing with the
idea of connecting and separating the two to create space for the light.
• “Is the circle a border that frames the inner light or is the square? Is there a frame that
can limit the light?”
• This series was painted on primed wooden panels with oil paints

‘abstract variation’ series

This series was the first one I made with abstract compositions in 2013/2014.

• Strongly builds on American abstract expressionism with particular focus Jackson

Pollock and Mark Rothko.

• The themes of this series reflects on the changes and questions that I went through
after my diagnoses with Crohn’s disease.

• “Questions about myself and others, relationships, life, values and meanings.”

• These paintings are expressive abstract compositions in which childlike playfulness

and constant struggle are present.

‘yellow arches’ series

The theme of this series was painting the lightness.

• Purpose: to paint something to see at the end of the tunnel as hopeful, lively and
promising. Something that I wished for when I was at a bad place.
• I associate colour yellow with the sun and its nurturing and healing energy. Also with
its rhythmic movement of rise and set.
• Painting the light in yellow led me to think about the necessity of darkness to see
the lightness.
• This series is the root work of the ‘light from within’, ‘circles in colours’ and ‘golden
circles’ series.
• This led me to colour gold that has a quality to reflect the light back from its own
surface with the quality of darkness and lightness all included in one interaction.
