Microbial DNA Isolation and Extraction

DNA isolation and extraction were the most important techniques in the fields of Microbiology,
Molecular Biology and Biotechnology which allow students and professionals to involve in the genetic
blueprints of microorganisms. Aside of it, these two techniques were powerful tool to add knowledge and
understanding regarding the diversity, evolution, and functionality of different microorganisms such bacteria
and fungi for the development of their application in the field of medicine, biotechnology, agriculture, industry
and environmental science (Lederberg, 2001).

The isolated and extracted DNA from bacteria and fungi undergo complex processes which was design
to release the DNA molecules from the cellular matrix to separate them from other cellular components.
Furthermore, the extracted DNA from the isolated bacteria and fungi was eventually go through PCR and
Metagenomics for their DNA analyses, however, the choice of extraction depends on different factors that will
be involve such as the target microorganism, the sample source and the intended analysis (Gupta, 2019).

In this experiment, the exploration of the embark journey of microbial DNA isolation and extraction will
be based on the methodologies and applications that are involve in these techniques. It also emphasize their
significance in adding more knowledge and understanding about the genetic mysteries of the microbial world.
In addition, it provide essential insights into harnessing the genetic information within the bacteria and fungi.
