Self-Reflection
Read “The Challenge of Cultural Relativism” by James Rachels. Consider the following study questions after reading

● Knowing that there are (cultural) differences even among persons in one society, what should be the most proper thing to do?

Answer: Learning about other cultures helps us understand different perspectives within the world in which we live.
It helps dispel negative stereotypes and personal biases about different groups. In addition, cultural diversity helps us recognize and respect “ways of
being” that are not necessarily our own

● Would a cultural relativism be collect in maintaning that nobody has the moral basic to complain about his / her because he/ she was just following
what he/she believed was right?

ANSWER: No. And no cultural relativist would make such a claim because cultural relativism is descriptive, not prescriptive cultural
relativist would be trying to understand why white supremacists make the judgements that they do. This can be done while still being
utterly opposed to white supremacism.Somebody has misled you about what cultural relativism means.
