Psycho Rangers A Dark Turn
Andros, the Red Space Ranger, has discovered a terrible truth: Astronema, Princess of Evil and
servant of Dark Specter, is his lost sister, Karone! Now, Astronema has offered to meet him on
their homeworld of KO-35. Are the Rangers about to gain a powerful ally in the battle against Dark
Specter, or could they be walking into a trap?
If Astronema really does want to turn against Dark Specter, his minions will go to any length to
stop her. There is no time to waste!
SETUP
Follow the normal setup for the base game. Use Quantrons, any other Foot Soldier, any two
Monsters, and any Boss other than Astronema. Set aside Astronema’s Deployment card and
enemy deck.
Players may choose any Space Ranger, but one player must control Andros, the Red Space Ranger.
Choose any Pink Ranger (regardless of team) and set aside their combat deck; their cards will be
used later.
Note: If you have Ranger Allies Pack #3, use Karone (Lost Galaxy Pink)’s combat deck.
PLAY
Deployment Phase
During each Deployment Phase, resolve 1 fewer deployments than normal.Placing Flood Tokens
Only Andros can initiate a battle at Astronema’s location. (Other Rangers may participate in battle
as usual.) Astronema does not participate in battle or count toward KO-35’s figure limit. However,
until all enemy figures on KO-35 have been defeated, KO-35 remains panicked.
“You can help us, Karone,” says Andros. “We can defeat Dark Specter together!”
Astronema recovers her identity as Karone and joins the Rangers in their battle against Dark Specter’s
minions.
Using Karone
Now that Astronema has recovered her memories, she will help the Rangers. However, the minions of
Dark Specter will not let her change sides without a fight! Place her figure on the 6 space of the power
track. Her figure’s position on the power track will determine whether Karone remains in control or is
recaptured by Dark Specter’s minions.
The Pink Ranger combat deck that was set aside during Setup becomes Karone’s deck.
Place Karone’s deck next to the power board. Reveal 2 cards from Karone’s deck and place them in a
face-up row.
During battle, any Ranger may play one of Karone’s combat cards from the row as if it were in their
hand. After resolving it, place it on the bottom of Karone’s deck.
When Andros performs the Recover action, shuffle Karone’s deck, then reveal cards from Karone’s
deck to refill the row (max 2).
When a Ranger uses one or more of Karone’s cards during the same Ranger turn that they defeat an
enemy card belonging to a Monster, move her figure one space to the left on the power track.
Whenever a Ranger is defeated, move her figure one space to the right on the power track.
When the boss deploys, Karone will either be freed from Dark Specter’s control or be recaptured and
turned back to her evil self, depending on her figure’s position on the power track.
Karone is recaptured. Dark Specter’s minions capture Karone and restore her evil personality,
Astronema. Return Karone’s deck to the box. Astronema has been recaptured and once more serves the
forces of evil.
Deploy the Boss and Astronema as a Paired Boss. Then, remove all foot soldiers from their location.
It is treated as being at its figure limit for the rest of the game.
During a battle against the Paired Boss, place 4 cards from Astronema’s deck on the top row of
the combat sequence and 4 cards from the other Boss’s deck on the bottom row of the combat
sequence.
In order to defeat the paired boss, the Rangers must defeat 3 cards from each of their enemy decks.
(Note, even if you defeat 3 cards from one deck, you still must fight them both until 3 cards are
defeated from each deck for a total of 6 defeated enemy cards.)
If Astronema’s figure is on the same space or to the left of the power marker
Karone casts a mystified look at the Rangers. Her eyes lock on Andros—her brother. She whirls to
face Dark Specter’s envoy. “I don’t serve Dark Specter. Not anymore!”
Karone is freed of Dark Specter’s influence forever. The maximum number of cards in Karone’s
combat card row increases to 3.
Deploy the Boss as usual. If the Rangers defeat the Boss, they win!
GAME END
If the Rangers freed Karone and win:
The minions of Dark Specter have once again been repelled. The Rangers can finally stop and
celebrate their new ally, Karone. Andros and Karone finally have time for a long-awaited reunion.
Brother and sister embrace. The battle to defeat evil will continue soon enough, but for now, the
Rangers can enjoy time with the most important people in their lives: friends, family, and, of course,
their comrades in the struggle against evil.
