 For Li-ion rechargeable batteries, the most common sizes are the 18650 (18mm diameter,

Connection Type: 5P10S means – 5 Parallel cell and 10 series cell, Total=50 cell

Configuration of Battery Pack:

-Parallel connection of cell increase the amp-hr.

-Series connection of cell increase the voltage

The typical elements found in a rechargeable battery pack:

 An 18650 is a lithium ion rechargeable battery. Their proper name is “18650 cell”. The 18650
cell has voltage of 3.7v and has between 1800mAh and 3500mAh (mili-amp-hours).
 18650s may have a voltage range between 2.5 volts and 4.2 volts, or a charging voltage of
4.2 volts, but the nominal voltage of a standard 18650 is 3.7 volts.

Battery Types:

 Battery Management System, or BMS circuit

- BMS (battery management system) units in the battery, which also helps, prevent
over charging and discharging
 All batteries have characteristics including capacity, voltage, size, weight, charging time and
total battery life.
 More voltage = more speed

- Amp hours are therefore used to determine battery life. Amp hours divided by amps
tell us the battery life in hours. Therefore, a 2Ah battery can draw two amps for one
hour before it runs out or four amps for half an hour.
 - A 60Ah battery can supply 60amps for 1 hour, 30amps for 2, or 120amps for half an
hour. In all possible cases the two numbers when multiplied together give 60.
1x60=60, 2x30=60. 0.5x120=60.
 While purchasing an Ebike you must know the nominal power rating of your motor. This is
actually the energy consumed by your motor in 1 hour. Adviceable range is minimum of 250
watt hour motor but if you need more power you can choose higher watt hour motor like
500 Watt hour or 700 Watt hour (as per govt of India rules, only motors upto 250 watt
power rating are allowed to be ridden without license & don't need registration. Any motor
above 250 needs RTO registration & license).
