“ECHOES OF TOMORROW”
A Short Film Festival

Guidelines/Mechanics:
 Bonafide Grade 11 students of MORMS taking up Media and Information
Literacy subject.
 The theme of the film must focus on following Key Elements:
o Aspirations and Uncertainties: Delve into the dreams and aspirations of
different students, capturing their hopes for the future juxtaposed with the
uncertainties that come with transitioning into adulthood.
o Social Dynamics: Explore the intricacies of friendships, cliques, and
social pressures within the high school environment. Highlight the impact
of peer relationships on personal growth and self-discovery.
o Family Expectations: Illuminate the expectations placed on students by
their families, showcasing the sometimes-challenging balance between
parental aspirations and individual desires.
o Identity Exploration: Follow characters on a journey of self-discovery,
addressing issues related to identity, self-acceptance, and the quest to
find one's place in the world.
o Technology and Connectivity: Examine the role of technology in
shaping the students' perspectives, relationships, and daily lives. Consider
the positives and negatives of a technologically connected world.
o Academic Pressures: Address the academic challenges faced by
students, including the pressure to excel, standardized testing, and the
impact on mental health.
o Coping Mechanisms: Showcase various coping mechanisms employed
by students to navigate stress, from artistic expression to sports, and
explore how these outlets contribute to their overall well-being.
o Inclusion and Diversity: Celebrate the diverse backgrounds and cultures
within the senior high school, emphasizing the strength that comes from
understanding and embracing differences.
o Environmental Consciousness: Highlight the students' awareness and
concerns about environmental issues, showcasing their efforts to make a
positive impact on their surroundings.
o Narrative Unity: Create a narrative that weaves together these diverse
perspectives, showing that while each student faces unique challenges,

there are common threads that unite them in the shared journey toward an
uncertain yet hopeful future.
"Echoes of Tomorrow" aims to provide a platform for senior high school students
to express their perspectives on these critical themes, fostering a sense of
understanding and unity within their community.
 Participants should build their own script, monologue, plot, storyline, with its
being relevant and correlated to the program’s theme.
 The duration of the short film should run for a minimum of 10 minutes and
maximum of 15 minutes only.
 Entries should be original. In accordance with the copyright laws, music used in
an entry must be original, licensed or in the public domain.
 Appropriate themes must be applied, and no vulgar actions or words shall be
used in the film.
 English, Filipino and TagLish can be used as a language. Use of subtitles are
encouraged.
 Setting of the film should be strictly in the school premise only. Shooting scenes
outside the school is discouraged.
 Participants should submit their short film on or before (date), 2024.
 Any type of video camera or DSLR cameras capable of filming high-definition
videos may be used. Animation and computer graphics are also permitted. It
should be in HD file (MP4 Format). Video resolution should be at least 720p
 One entry per class only.
 There should be a digital film poster printed in 17x26 inches tarpaulin.
 There should also be a 3 min., trailer of the film.
