CHAPTER 1

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

The Carlos F. Gonzales High School STEM education emphasizes the development of
critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and STEM students are trained to approach
problems in a logical and scientific manner. They have a deep understanding of technology and
are comfortable using it to solve problems. STEM students are also adept at working
collaboratively in teams, leveraging their diverse skill sets to solve complex problems and
complete tasks efficiently. Through hands-on experiences and project-based learning, STEM
students develop practical skills that prepare them for a wide range of careers in fields such as
engineering, computer science, and healthcare. Overall, STEM education equips students with
the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in a rapidly changing world, where innovation and
problem-solving are becoming increasingly important.

Currently when the STEM teachers have a difficult time monitoring tablets while being
used by the STEM students depending on the circumstance of their task. It may sometimes affect
the focal person to monitoring the tablets and know if there are damages to the tablets used by
the STEM students.

The STMSS designed for the teachers and the admin for time management and less
hassle for utilizing the tablets, the teachers can schedule their time for borrowing the tablets by
the borrow time, return time, and the quantity of tablets being used by the STEM students. When
they do the teachers and the admin are capable of scheduling, reporting, and adding the tablets
into the system while the administrator have the ability to add accounts and check for schedules
and reports from the teachers. With this system features tablet borrowing sessions, specifying the
borrow time, return time, and the required quantity of tablets for STEM students. Additionally,
the system empowers teachers and administrator with functionalities such as scheduling,
reporting, and tablet inventory management. Administrators can further leverage the system to
create new user accounts, monitor schedules, and access reports generated by the teachers. By
providing a comprehensive set of features, the STMSS of Carlos F. Gonzales High School
ensures efficient tablet management for educational institutions, making the process smoother for
both teachers and administrators.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

GENERAL PROBLEM

This study aims to develop the monitoring and scheduling system for the tablets in Carlos
F. Gonzales High School.

SPECIFIC PROBLEMS

1. How to develop?
2. How does the system will help the teachers with their schedule?
3. How secure is the data of this system?
4. How does the system function?

PROJECT OBJECTIVES

The researcher’s system would bring the STEM Monitoring System a efficient way about
analyzing and monitoring of tablets including the scheduling of tablets being used.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

This system will help the teachers to facilitate the scheduling of tablets and it will also
help the school so that other teachers will have ideas to create a system like this as well.

This system will have an identification wherein every single tablets has the name of the
student and their LRN. which is saved in the data base of teachers and the admin.
This system also will help the teachers to identify the problem of each tablet. This system
has built in a report wherein the teacher can report a specific tablet that has a problem. Also the
admin can see all the report that the teachers made, so that the admin will be able to fix that
specific tablet.

SCOPE AND DELIMITATIONS

This study is only focus on the system and the user which is the teachers of S.T.E.M. and
the admin which is the head of TVL track.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

Teachers- the researchers found out that this system will benefit the teachers to be more
organize

Students- This will help the students because they will easily know what they’re tablet
that they’re using.

CONCLUSION

The researcher found out that having a STEM tablet monitoring system is beneficiary for
teachers, because it can be useful for monitoring the condition of the tablets and also have an
organized scheduling system. In addition to the benefits for teachers, the STEM tablet
monitoring system can also be advantageous for the admin. With the system in place, admin can
gain a better understanding of the overall health and usage of the tablets, allowing them to make
informed decisions about purchasing and maintenance. Furthermore, the scheduling system
provided by the STEM tablet monitoring system can help ensure that tablets are distributed and
used in a fair and equitable manner among students, reducing the potential for conflicts or
disparities in access. Overall, the implementation of a STEM tablet monitoring system can lead
to improved educational outcomes and a more streamlined technology management process for
schools.
RECOMMENDATION

 Principal – The developers would like to recommend this system to principal to give an
idea to have a online scheduling in their meeting.

 School – The developers also would like to recommend this system to school to get an
idea to have a online scheduling on upcoming activities and events.
Chapter 2

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

PURPOSE

The purpose of this system is to help STEM teachers to be organize when using tablets.
In the line with that information the purpose of this is to have a monitoring system to be able to
determine the status of the tablets.

FUNCTIONS AND FEATURES

The function of this system is having a monitoring system for tablets. This system can
execute to check the status of tablets and able to check the reports about the status of the tablets.

We added the feature of scheduling to be able to organized when the teachers is borrowing
the tablets. This can also help the teachers to have more efficient time when it comes on
borrowing a tablets.
