across the globe. The company has outlined its strategic plan, "World Without Waste”, which

aims at eliminating waste from the company’s packaging. The plan sets aggressive waste

management and recycling goals for the company and it reaffirms Coca-Cola's commitment to

resource conservation and environmental sustainability. This is an analysis of Coca-Cola’s

"World Without Waste” strategic plan.

 Clearly states where the organization is going and how it will get there

Coca-Cola’s “World Without Waste” is a sustainable packaging strategy that aims at creating a

circular economy to minimize and eventually eliminate packaging waste. Coca-Cola has defined

various milestones, targets, and timeframes to help it achieve its plan successfully. The roadmap

to achieving the company's aggressive waste reduction focuses on packaging design, collection,

and strategic partnerships. The company aims to design eco-friendly packaging and significantly

reduce the use of virgin plastic from non-renewable sources by 2025. Additionally, the company

aims to use at least 50% recycled material in its packaging and have not less than 25%, by

volume, of all of its beverages sold in returnable or refillable bottles by 2030. Additionally, the

company seeks to ease bottle collection and partner with stakeholders to create sustainable

recycling systems.

 Evaluates the organization’s external and internal environments

“World Without Waste is a comprehensive strategic plan that takes into consideration both the

internal and external environments of the company. The plan depicts Coca-Cola's awareness of

the environment and how it affects corporate strategy. Concerning the internal environment, the

plan was developed by taking into consideration various aspects such as the company's human

resources and organizational structure. For instance, the company not only states the importance
of aligning its workforce to new priorities but also the need to streamline its operating units to

improve the operational efficiency of the company.

The plan also recognizes different elements of the external environment such as changes in

consumer preferences, competition, and regulatory frameworks. In the plan, the company

acknowledges that the consumer landscape is ever-changing and it outlines various measures to

keep up with the trends in the industry. Additionally, Coca-Cola understands that global

regulations are moving towards favoring sustainable and environmentally friendly business

practices. Thus, the plan is centered on developing eco-friendly and recyclable packaging

materials.

 Includes a people plan and addresses achievement of a diverse workforce

Coca-Cola's strategic plan acknowledges the critical role played by employees in achieving the

company goals. The company also appreciates the value of a diverse workforce, especially in

pursuing global excellence. The “World Without Waste” plan prioritizes employee development

through training programs, mentorship programs, and employee resource groups. In addition, the

strategic plan includes other initiatives to promote women's participation and other

underrepresented groups in management positions to enhance inclusivity and diversity within the

company.

 Has corporate social responsibility and environmental sustainability

and environmental sustainability. The plan revolves around developing eco-friendly and reusable

packaging materials in a bid to reduce plastic waste. Through the plan, Coca-Cola aims to reduce
