Abstract
Introduction
SWOT analysis stands for the analysis of an organization’s Strengths, Weaknesses,
Opportunities and Weaknesses. SWOT analysis is the analysis of internal and
external analysis which helps in identifying an organization's internal strengths and
weaknesses and external opportunities and threats. In Bangladesh, Walton is a
giant high-tech industry. SWOT analysis will help the industry in developing long-
term planning and the way of implementing the plan.

Overview of the Company
Walton Hi-Tech Industries Ltd was formed as a private limited company in 2006,
manufactures high-quality, long-lasting refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners,
televisions, mobile phones, and other electrical and electronics products. Walton's
products are now sold in nearly 40 countries. The company is currently planning to
export its product to all the countries in the world.

The company has a 66% market share of the refrigerator market, 50% share of the
television market, and 33% share of the air conditioner market. The company is
currently working on becoming a global brand within 2030 in the electrical &
electronics product. (ISLAM, 2021)

Internal Analysis
Strengths
i) Diversified products: Walton provides different kinds of electrical and
electronic products like refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, washing
machines, mobile phones, motorbikes, televisions etc. Walton provides A
types of products to the consumers and the consumers can buy any
products according to their needs., This variety of products reduces the
risk of buying one product.
ii) Strong workforce: Today Walton has a strong workforce of more than
30000. (Anonymous, 2021) This strong workforce is working hard to
achieve the long term goal of the company.
iii) Strong production capacity: Walton’s yearly production capacity is 10
million units according to consumer demands. The company has more
than 22 production bases under 700 acres of land. (Anonymous, 2021).
iv) Effective management systems: The company is successfully
maintaining its management systems and providing a safe working
environment for the workers and the employees.
v) Customer-centered: Walton’s marketing department is successful in
analyzing and understanding customers’ demand which is creating a
huge amount of supply from the company
vi) Good quality within a reasonable price: Walton is providing durable
products with great features within a reasonable price which is giving
good customer feedback.
vii) Modern technology: Walton is using the help of modern technology in
manufacturing its products which makes the work easy and saves a lot of
time.0

Weakness
i) Lack of skilled labour and employee: As there is a huge workforce in
the company, it is quite difficult to give proper training to the workers and
the employees.
ii) Different types of products: The company can minimize its risk through
diversified products, but it is also difficult for the company to maintain an
effective market for each product. Manufacturing different types of
products can reduce the quality because it is difficult to focus on all of the
products because of the increasing market demand.
iii) Low quality of hardware in some products: There are so many
electronics companies in the market providing products with high-quality
hardware compared to Walton.
iv) Effective monitoring problem: As Walton is providing a wide range of
products, it is quite difficult to monitor the market for each product.
Besides, monitoring the management is also difficult because of the huge
workforce.
v) Not available customer service centre: Walton provides a wide range of
products to all the major cities in Bangladesh and also in foreign
countries, but Walton cannot provide an available service centre in all the
major cities.
External Analysis
Opportunities
i) Growth in sales: The company has diversified products. This
diversification can increase sales. Besides Walton company is creating
the demand for their products by analyzing market conditions.
ii) Increasing employment: As the current production capacity of Walton
is 10 million units per year, the company needs a huge workforce for
manufacturing, marketing and other works. In this way, the company is
creating employment for the public.
iii) Introduction to new products in the market: Walton company is
continuously introducing new products in the market by analyzing
customer demand. It is a great way to increase sales.
iv) Reasonable price: Walton is providing its product at a reasonable
price so that consumers can afford it and the company can make a
reasonable profit.

Threats
i) New competitors: Walton company is not the only electronics company
in Bangladesh. There are many other companies in Bangladesh like
Jamuna electronics, Vision, Singer, Vigo, Samsung etc. also providing
electronics products. There is a high tendency that customers might
switch to those companies’ products.
ii) Political unrest: Political unrest can hamper the production and supply
of the company. It is quite impossible to import the accessories needed to
manufacture the product during political unrest.
iii) Changes in customer demand over time: Customers’ demand may
change over time due to various factors like fluctuation in income,
weather, consumers’ expectations etc. If the market analysis is weak, the
company may face a huge loss.
iv) Future uncertainty: The future is always uncertain. So, to minimize the
risk of future uncertainty, the company should have strong
farsightedness.

Conclusion
Walton Hi-tech Industries Ltd has a huge potential to flourish only if the company
can strategically get rid of the weaknesses and face the threats. Only a deep SWOT
analysis can help the company take strategic planning to overcome the weaknesses
and the threats.

Recommendation
From the above SWOT analysis, I can recommend some suggestions based on the
SWOT analysis.

 Strong focus on market demand.


 Keep working on the quality of the products.
 Give effective training to the workers and the employees.
 Prioritize the customer feedback.
 Establishing customer service centres in all the major cities.
