The Deadline is Monday January 15th, 2024 at Midnight

You must be an active AWAM member to apply for a scholarship. If you are
not currently a member, or need to renew, please visit our website at
www.awam.org/membership.
Application Limits:
You may apply for a maximum of 4 scholarships, total.
Documentation:
ALL Scholarship documents must be scanned into one single pdf file in this
specific order:
• Resume
• Essay - 250 words on your interest in aviation
• Any scholarship specific essay
• Two letters of recommendation
• Copy of A&P Certificate, School Transcripts, or Statement of industry
Involvement, as appropriate.

The required documents must be ordered and submitted as a single


combined .pdf file or your application will not be considered
Airbus Tuition Assistance Scholarship

Airbus is pleased to present two $5,000 scholarship to be awarded to a


female student in a trade, technical, college or university education
system pursuing a license or degree in an aviation maintenance or
manufacturing related field. This is available to women A&P’s continuing
their university education, as well.

Requirements:
• AWAM essay and documentation as listed on page one
• Essay on career aspirations and how they promote and exhibit
behaviors that promote a safe, positive, productive and inclusive
manufacturing work place
• Currently enrolled trade or university student with a 3.0 or above GPA
• Applicants must be female.

Funds will be paid directly to the educational institution


AireXpert Tools of the Trade Scholarship

AireXpert knows it takes the right tools to be on the leading edge of an


Aviation Maintenance career. They have partnered with SONIC Tools to offer a
one $500 scholarship to any woman actively working as an aviation
maintenance technician.

Recognizing that many women working in the industry are in specialty fields
such as composites, interiors, and sheet metal, and do not need to have an
FAA certificate, applicants are not required to hold an A&P for this award.

Requirements:

• Applicant must be actively working as an aviation maintenance technician.
• All tooling must be purchased from Sonic Tools.
• Applicant must be female

Funds will be sent directly to Sonic Tools to fulfill order(s) made.


Alaska Airlines/Horizon Air Tuition Scholarship

Alaska Airlines/Horizon air is pleased to present two $2,500 tuition


scholarships to be awarded to a female student enrolled in a part 147 training
program

Requirements:

• AWAM essay and documentation as listed on page one


• Essay on career aspirations and how they promote and exhibit behaviors
that promote a safe, positive, productive and inclusive work place
• Currently enrolled part 147 training program

*Scholarship recipient will automatically be awarded a summer 2024

American Airlines Tuition Scholarship

American Airlines is pleased to present one $5,000 tuition scholarship to


be awarded to a female student enrolled in a part 147 training program,
and currently in their last year of coursework.

Requirements:
• AWAM essay and documentation as listed on page one
• Essay on career aspirations and how they promote and exhibit
behaviors that promote a safe, positive, productive and inclusive
work place
• Currently enrolled in last year of part 147 training program

Funds will be paid directly to the educational institution

Avotek—Online AET Radio Communications System
Endorsement Course

The Avotek Online AET RCS Radio Communication System Endorsement


Course will prepare those with an existing NCATT AET Certification to
take the RCS endorsement. Includes 1 year access to Avotek-online RCS
Endorsement Study Guide, 1 Avotek Avionics: Beyond the AET and 1
Avotek Avionics: Instruments and Auxiliary Systems Text- books, in your
choice of Print or eBook. 2 Scholarships available

Avotek Online AET Prep Course Scholarship

Avotek is a premier publisher of top-of-the-line training manuals for avia-


tion maintenance technician instructors, schools and students. Their
textbooks have a well-earned reputation for quality, accuracy and com-
pleteness. Avotek is offering two scholarships for their Online AET Prep
Course. Includes: login Access for 365 days to Avotek-Online
Fundamentals of Aircraft Electronics part I&II, and 1 Avotek Avionics:
Fundamentals of Aircraft Electronics Study Guide your choice of print or
eBook. This course and study guide will help prepare you to pass the
NCATT AET and further your Aviation Maintenance Career.

Applicants are not required to hold an A&P for this award.

Dallas-Fort Worth Chapter 34 A&P Scholarship

AWAM Dallas-Fort Worth Chapter 34 is offering one $500 scholarship for a


student currently enrolled in A&P school in the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex to
assist with A&P schooling or test fees. The scholarship is funded by the
chapter members dedication to community activities, fundraising, and
volunteerism; to be awarded to a student who shares their passion for acts of
service.

Requirements:

• Must be enrolled in A&P school in the DFW metroplex
• Applicant must include an essay (500 words or less) explaining why they are
deserving of this award

Funds will be paid directly to the educational institution


Mary Ann Eiff Memorial Scholarship
AVIATION MAINTENANCE CAREER ADVANCEMENT SCHOLARSHIP – This
scholarship offers women pursuing or actively engaged in aviation
maintenance careers a grant of $1,000 to be applied toward a specific
activity, skill or career preparation that will aid in the advancement of
their career. (Examples include fundamental tools for women entering
aviation maintenance certification programs, funding of oral and
practical exams, training opportunities for working mechanics to
provide additional career skills such as NDI certifications, AET, RCS or
similar training or cost of certification, OEM product training programs,
etc.)

To apply for the scholarship, provide an application narrative which


includes:
• AWAM essay and documentation as listed on page one

• Your current status pursuing or actively engaged in aviation

maintenance
• The career advancement activity for which you would utilize the

funds from scholarship


• The career goal you hope to achieve through this activity

• How this grant will help you achieve that goal

Students may apply as well as working aviation maintenance


professionals. Applicants must be female.
Flexjet Women in Aviation Maintenance
Scholarship
Flexjet will award one $2000 scholarship to a student currently
enrolled in a part 147 A&P program. Flexjet’s Maintenance &
Engineering departments are vital to the company's commitment to
provide safe, dependable and friendly air transportation to their
owners. As such, we seek to attract top maintenance talent who
share their passion and interest in the aviation industry. To
complement the scholarship, Flexjet will host the winner at our
maintenance facility in Cleveland, Ohio, along with a tour of Flexjet
headquarters and a meet and greet with industry leaders. This
scholarship also includes $500 towards airfare/hotel to attend the
2023 Women in Aviation International Conference.

Requirements:

• AWAM essay and documentation as listed on page one


• Currently enrolled part 147 training program with a GPA of 3.0 or
higher
• Must be a US Citizen

Funds will be paid directly to the recipient


Frontier Airlines Maintenance Scholarship
Frontier Airlines is pleased to announce one $2,500 scholarship to be
awarded to a female student in a trade, technical, college or
university education system pursuing a license or degree in an
aviation maintenance or manufacturing related field. This is available
to female A&P's continuing their university education as well.

Requirements:
• AWAM essay and documentation as listed on page one
• Female applicants only
• Must be enrolled in A&P school or continuing education
• Exhibits strong interest in joining the field
• Leadership orientation and/or active participation in extracurricular
activities preferred
• 3.0 or above GPA
• Funds will be paid directly to the educational institution
Harris Family FAA Test Fees Grant Award
The Harris Family FAA Test Fees Grant Award is an award for financial
assistance with FAA AMT written test fees. The award provides each
recipient $500 to be used toward the required FAA AMT test fees,
i.e., General, Airframe and/or Powerplant. The award(s) will be given
to recipients in a trade, technical, college, or university education
system who have completed or will complete in the next six months
the requirements necessary to take the FAA AMT written tests.

There are two scholarships available

If the applicant is not a currently enrolled student, he or she must


provide proof of FAA authorization to test.

Requirements:
• AWAM essay and documentation as listed on page one
• Testing must be done at a United States test center.
• Recipient must complete testing within one year after receiving the
award grant.
• Applicants should be close to taking at least one of the FAA AMT
written tests.
Searching for Success Scholarship

Dean Baldwin Painting & the Louisville Chapter of AWAM is offering one all-
inclusive scholarship to attend the 2024 Women in Aviation International
Conference. This scholarship includes all registration fees, round-trip airfare,
room and board, and transportation from the airport to the hotel, and return.
This scholarship has a total value of $1500.

Requirements:

• AWAM essay and documentation as listed on page one


• Applicant must be a senior or recent graduate of either a technical diploma
or Bachelors degree program for Aviation Maintenance or Aviation/Aerospace
Engineering
• 500 word or less essay detailing why you deserve to attend the WAI
Conference
• Applicant must be a female

Preference given to applicants in KY, IN, OH, IL, & TN

All funds will be dispersed directly to vendors.


Louisville AWAM Chapter A&P Scholarship

AWAM Lousiville Chapter 18 is offering one $500 scholarships to assist with


A&P schooling or test fees. The scholarship is funded by the chapter members
dedication to community activities, fundraising, and volunteer-ism; to be
awarded to two students who share their passion for acts of service.

Requirements:

• AWAM essay and documentation as listed on page one


• Recipient must be at least 6 months into their A&P program by the time of
the award in February of 2024
• Applicant must include an essay (500 words or less) explaining why they are
deserving of this award
• Applicant must be an avid volunteer in their community

There is no need to provide official transcripts to apply

Preference given to applicants in KY, IN, OH, IL, & TN


Netflix FAA Test Fee Award
Netflix's corporate aviation team would like to offer two scholarships
of $2500 each dedicated to testing needs awarded in the 2024
calendar year. The FAA Test Fees Grant Award is an award for
financial assistance with FAA AMT written test fees and Oral &
Practical test fees for General, Airframe and/or Powerplant.

Requirements:

• AWAM essay and documentation as listed on page one


• Applicants must be female
• Testing must be done at a United States test center.
• Recipient must complete testing within one year after receiving the
award grant.
• Applicants should be close to taking at least one of the FAA AMT
written tests.
Pittsburg Institute of Aeronautics Scholarship

Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics is excited to present a tuition scholar-


ship in the amount of $1416 per academic term for a female student
attending PIA’s main campus in West Mifflin, PA. For a newly registered
student whose training at PIA has not yet commenced, the per term
award will begin with first term of study in which the student is enrolled
on a full-time basis. For scholarship recipients who have already begun
their studies at PIA, the per term award will commence with next com-
plete academic term in which the student is enrolled following the date
of the award. The scholarship award will not be distributed retroactively
to completed terms or for the term in progress at the time the scholar-
ship is awarded.

West Mifflin, PA campus
• Applicant must be female
Piedmont Airlines Aviation Maintenance Scholarship
Piedmont Airlines is dedicated to fostering the next generation of
aviation maintenance professionals, and we're excited to offer the
Piedmont Airlines Aviation Maintenance Scholarship. This scholarship
is designed to provide financial assistance to individuals who are
currently attending or plan to attend a Part 147 Aviation
Maintenance school in pursuit of their Airframe and Powerplant
(A&P) certifications.

The two $1,000 scholarships will be paid directly to the Part 147
Aviation Maintenance school where the recipient is enrolled or plans
to enroll. This financial support will assist with tuition, books, and
other educational expenses.

Applicant Eligibility:
1. Reside on the East Coast
2. Be enrolled or plan to enroll in an FAA Part 147 Aviation
Maintenance school on the East Coast

2024 Pratt & Whitney Engine Maintenance
Training Scholarship
Pratt & Whitney is offering four (4) engine maintenance training scholarships
to individuals working to become A&P mechanics.

Applicant Qualifications and Requirements:

• AWAM essay and documentation as listed on page one.


• Applicants must be close to finishing Aviation Maintenance Technician
(AMT) schooling and obtaining their Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate
OR a Certificated A&P actively working in the field.
• Applicants cannot be a past Pratt & Whitney scholarship recipient
• Applicants cannot be a government official (i.e., active-duty military, an
active reservist or part of the National Guard)
• Open to any gender, but applicants must be U.S Citizens

The Pratt & Whitney Engine Maintenance Training Scholarship includes:

One pre-scheduled engine maintenance training course


Travel assistance available based on need
*The average estimated value of this scholarship in U.S. dollars is $7,000.
*Scholarships expire two years from the date in which they are received.

All training must be completed at the Pratt & Whitney Customer


Training Center in East Hartford, CT
Republic Airways Opportunity Elevated Scholarship
Republic Airways will award a $5,000 scholarship to a woman
enrolled in a Part 147 Airframe & Powerplant certification program
pursuing a career as an aircraft maintenance technician. Republic
Airways will also provide travel, lodging and registration to the
Women in Aviation conference to the winner as a part of this
scholarship.

Women applicants only, with preference given if they are an RJet


Cadet or are interested in pursuing a career within the airline
industry

Requirements:

• Applicants must be female
• Must be enrolled in an FAA Part 147 A&P school
Jim and Alice Rice FAA Test Fees Grant Award

The Northrop Rice Foundation (NRF) was founded over 25 years ago by
associates of Jim and Alice Rice. NRF is pleased to present 2ea awards
for FAA AMT written test fee vouchers. The award provides each
recipient with full financial support to pay FAA AMT test fees required to
take two (2) FAA AMT written tests (e.g., General, Airframe and/or
Powerplant).

It is not necessary to be a student to be considered for this scholarship

Requirements:

• Applicants should be close to taking at least one of the FAA AMT
written tests.
• If not a currently enrolled student, applicant must provide proof of
FAA authorization to test.

Recipient must complete testing within one year after receiving the
award grant.
Paula Estes Rudser Memorial Scholarship

In loving memory of Paula Estes Rudser, an educator, mother, advocate,


and the ultimate Girl Scout, the Rudser family is happy to contribute two
$300 scholarships for women working in the aviation industry to assist
them in purchasing functional and comfortable women's workwear and
safety footwear. Until aviation grows to fit women, women deserve
assistance obtaining well-fitted attire. Applicants are not required to
hold an A&P for this award.
Requirements:

• Applicant must be a woman that is actively working as an aviation
maintenance technician or a student in a Part 147 AMT program.
Preference will be given to applicants that are prior Girl Scouts or current
volunteers with that organization.

Purchases can be reimbursed against an itemized receipt or funds can be


sent directly to the recipients clothing/footwear supplier of choice to
fulfill any order, upon approval of selected items.
SONIC Tools Supporting Women in Aviation Maintenance

SONIC Tools is providing one S9 customized aviation A&P toolbox + tools


to a deserving student of a part 147 A&P program, or recent graduate
that has obtained their A&P certificate. SONIC Tools matches big name

Requirements:

• Applicants must include a short essay (250 words) on the topic of tool
control, organization, and the value of working out of a shadowed
toolbox.
• Must be a student in a part 147 A&P program OR recent graduate that
has obtained their A&P certificate.
• Applicants must be female and a US Citizen.
• Applicants MUST be able to attend the 2024 WAI Conference in
Orlando, FL March 21-23, 2024.

Southwest Airlines Maintenance Scholarship
Southwest Airlines is please to present two tuition scholarships in the
amount of $1500 each. The scholarship will also include WAI
conference admission, accommodations and airfare. In addition,
scholarship recipients will receive a small toolbox with the Southwest
Airlines emblem.

Special consideration given to applicants who identify with a


community traditionally underrepresented in the field (e.g. Black,
Indigenous, people of color, women) and those in an A&P program or
holding an A&P certificate (or equivalent)

• Applicants MUST be able to attend the 2024 WAI Conference in
Orlando, FL March 21-23, 2024.
