FOREWORD

All praise be to Allāh the One worthy of being worshipped, the

Almighty, the Most Merciful, the Lord of everything that exists.
May His peace and blessings be upon the last and final
Messenger, Muhammad ‫ﷺ‬, his family, his companions, and
all those who follow them till the end of time.
Alhamdulillah, it gives me immense pleasure to write the
foreword for this booklet which despite its small size is
immensely beneficial in content. It is imperative for every student
of knowledge to not only know the rulings of various issues but
also to know the proofs from which those rulings were derived.
This booklet has gathered much of the necessary evidences from
the Qur’ān and Sunnah in one place thereby making it easy for the
student of knowledge to read and memorize them.
It is said (‫ )من لم يتقن األصول حرم الوصول‬which can be translated
as “the one who doesn’t strengthen (his memorization and
understanding) of the fundamentals, will be prevented from
reaching greater heights” and this is why our teachers would also
stress the importance of memorizing mutoon (small texts which
contain the fundamentals of a particular subject).
It is very unfortunate today that we see students studying
Islamic sciences without any habit of memorization. Scholars of
the past would summarize much of the subjects taught to their
students such as Arabic grammar, Principles of Islamic
Jurisprudence, Fiqh, Aqeedah etc. into small & concise texts or
even render them in a poetic format so as to facilitate its
memorization by the students.
It is, therefore, incumbent upon every student of knowledge,
who is serious in treading the path of the righteous scholars of the
past, to memorize first and foremost the book of Allāh and along
with that, such small yet highly beneficial booklets which would
increase his understanding and make him/her able to remember
the various issues, they come across in their studies, along with
their evidences.
May Allāh make this work beneficial and accept all the efforts
of all those who contributed towards its successful completion.

 PREFACE

All praise is due to Allāh, the Lord of honour and Glory, who
has guided us to Islaam & made us among the followers of His
last Prophet ‫ ﷺ‬and upon all those who follow the path of truth
till the Last Day.
We are pleased to present this valuable collection of the
Qur’ānic texts, Prophetic Traditions, and statements of leading
scholars of the early generations under significant Islamic Topics.
It should be known that the correct way of Da’wah is to follow
the instruction of the Creator Himself, as He states in His Noble
Book,

]45:‫﴾ [ق‬... ‫َفَذ ِّك ْر ِباْلُقْر آِن‬...﴿

“But remind by the Qur’aan.” [Qāf: 45]

]45:‫﴾ [األنبياء‬... ‫﴿ُقْل ِإَّنَم ا ُأْنِذُر ُك ْم ِباْلَو ْح ِي‬

Say, “I only warn you by revelation…” [Al-Anbiyā': 45]

‫﴿َو ِإْن َأَح ٌد ِم َن اْلُم ْش ِر ِك يَن اْس َتَج اَر َك َفَأِج ْر ُه َح َّتى َيْس َم َع َكاَل َم ِهللا ُثَّم َأْبِلْغ ُه َم ْأَم َنُه‬

]6:‫َذ ِلَك ِبَأَّنُهْم َقْو ٌم اَل َيْع َلُم وَن ﴾ [التوبة‬

“And if any one of the polytheists seeks your protection,

then grant him protection so that he may hear the words of
Allāh. Then deliver him to his place of safety. That is
 because they are a people who do not know.” [At-Tawbah:
6]
And this is the way of the righteous predecessors too. It is
important to know that Nothing is more efficient & more effective
than the words of The Creator.
But today, what we see amongst a lot of young callers/da’ees is
quiet contrary to the above. They learn, memorize and quote a
great deal from supplementary and supporting evidences/sources
while ignoring the primary sources of the Deen, i.e., the Qur’aan
and the Sunnah. All supplementary and supporting evidence such
as scientific facts, statistics, scriptures of different people, etc.
may or may not stand the test of time and are open to
manipulation, interpretation and even sometimes reversible. But
the Wahy of Allāh, The Most Perfect is complete and final in all
aspects. It has and shall stand the test of time until the Hour is
established.
This series of booklets is a humble initiative to provide an easy
access for the students of knowledge to memorize the nusoos
[texts] thereby grounding them firmly on the primary sources of
Da’wah and creating a strong and deep-rooted connection
between then and the Wahy of Allāh.
Secondly,
The students of knowledge nowadays, have resorted to
groupism, splitting within the Ahlus Sunnah based on the scholar
whom they prefer & revere the most. They follow them wherever
they go & listen only from them while belittling/ignoring other
authentic scholars thus being deprived of the huge amount of
knowledge and tarbiyyah that they could otherwise have access to.
This pattern has led to a culture of fan-following or personality
cults, though almost all of the scholars whom they associate
themselves or are obsessed with do not prescribe or approve of
such a practice.
Unfortunately, this is happening due to tying and recognizing
the truth with people, contrary to what is required.
Allāh says,

﴾ ‫﴿اَّتِبُعوا َم ا ُأْنِزَل ِإَلْيُك ْم ِم ْن َر ِّبُك ْم َو اَل َتَّتِبُعوا ِم ْن ُدوِنِه َأْو ِلَياَء َقِلياًل َم ا َتَذ َّك ُروَن‬

]3:‫[األعراف‬

Follow, [O mankind], what has been revealed to you from

your Lord and do not follow other than Him any allies.
Little do you remember. [Al-'A'rāf: 6]
The below statement of Ali h is worth quoting here:

‫ تعرف أهله‬،‫ اعرف الحق‬،‫إن الحَّق ال ُيعَر ُف بالرجال‬

Indeed, the truth is not known with the people rather by
knowing the truth we know the people.
Imam Maalik ® said: “Everyone’s statement can be taken or
rejected except for the companion of this grave [pointing to the
grave of the beloved Prophet ‫ ﷺ‬.”
Thus, this booklet is presented with the intent of equipping the
people, especially students of knowledge with the nusoos, for
when the students of knowledge are attached to the nusoos, the
probability of blindly following the personalities, even in their
individual mistakes, is significantly decreased, Bi idhnillaah!
I thank Shaikh Hafiz Tariq Huq Madani (May Allāh protect
him and keep him steadfast upon the truth), Asst. Professor
[Preston International College], who has reviewed and approved
the materials.
I thank the team of sisters led by Sister Hazira Umma, who
have worked hard to collect the material from various authentic
books and compiled these booklets. I humbly request all the
students of knowledge to reap the benefits of this hard work and
benefit the ummah through the knowledge thus obtained in shaa
Allāh.

Institutions especially Br. Jiffry Kasim (May Allāh Protect him)

 INTRODUCTION

All praises and thanks be to Allāh, who has guided us to this,

and never could we have found guidance, were it not that Allāh
had guided us. Peace and blessings of Allāh be upon Muhammad
‫ﷺ‬, his family members and his companions and those who
follow him until the Day of Judgment.
This book, ‘Al Mu’een ‘Ala Ma’rifati Adillati Ad Deen’ -
Alhamdulillaah, recognizes the need to have a collection of topics
that are studied under the subject of Aqeedah and Fiqh for all
levels of students of knowledge and also emphasizes the
importance of learning and quoting the evidences from the Book
of Allāh and the authentic narrations of Prophet ‫ﷺ‬.
The entire collection has been categorized into Beginner,
Intermediate and Advanced levels to cater the needs of all levels
of students of knowledge. The very arrangement of the topics
under each level serves as a guide to prioritize the sequence of
learning for the beginners and gradually takes them to the
advanced level. As for Aqeedah, all the 6 pillars of Eemaan are
spread into all the three levels widely covering all aspects of
Tawheed and Shirk including the topics related to manhaj in the
advanced level and as for Fiqh, all the 5 pillars of Islam are
covered in all the three levels including the topics of muaa’malaat
in the advanced level.
 Each topic will have primary evidence either from the Qur’aan
or Hadith, and the advanced level will also include the sayings of
the salaf. Memorizing the same, aids the student of knowledge to
support his/ her speech or Da’wah with these evidences rather
than quoting his/her own understanding of the same. It is highly
recommended that the Arabic part of the evidences are memorized
along with the references. Any equivalent English translation can
be adopted by the student of knowledge, not restricting
himself/herself to what has been used in this book. It will be a
handy resource in shaa Allāh for all levels of seekers of
knowledge, helping them to constantly stay in touch with what
they learn as well as to memorise the evidences easily.
A student of knowledge, of course, should seek a proper
foundation for all the Islamic sciences by studying under
authentic scholars who will guide them in understanding the
Deen and following the manhaj of the Salaf. For them, then,
this book will serve its purpose, in shaa Allāh.
The methodology followed in quoting the evidences in this
book is, when there are many aayaat or ahaadith that can be
mentioned for a particular topic, preference is given to the primary
evidence or comprehensive evidence which will cover all the
aspects of the topic within it.
The basic level also has a brief introduction explaining what is
Aqeedah and Fiqh before the actual topics begin. This book is also
aimed to help the student in understanding how the evidences are
derived from the verses and ahaadith. This can be achieved by
understanding the context of the evidences that are quoted and the
way they have been used to support the mentioned concept.
The main sources for this book were the text books used for the
Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Islamic Studies conducted at
Preston International College -Chennai, Alhamdulillaah. Also,
many other books and lectures related to the topics were referred
to find the appropriate evidences and to place the topics in the
suitable levels, Alhamdulillaah.
The Compiling team includes Sr Sithi Kathija, Sr Shahana,
Sr Nuzaiba, Sr Afifa, Sr Haseeba and Sr Hazira Umma from
the Tajweed department of Preston International College,
Chennai.
The entire content was reviewed by Sh Tariq Haq Madani,
who had precisely notified each and every single thing, whether
small or big, to be added or deleted. The appropriate English
words that would match the Arabic terms, the clarity of the topics,
the spellings and grammar and the relevance of the quoted
evidences and the authenticity, etc were thoroughly checked by
the Shaikh, may Allāh preserve him and help us benefit from his
knowledge. Aameen!
We ask Allāh, the Exalted, that this book will be useful for all
the students of knowledge as well as the common men of this
ummah, in their endeavor to learn the Deen of Allāh as it was
revealed to our Prophet ‫ ﷺ‬and that Allāh will make easy for
us and them the memorization of the authentic evidences.
Any correctness and benefit that are found in this book is from
the Guidance of Allāh and any mistake found in this book is ours.
We seek His forgiveness for them.
We ask Allāh to accept our small work, as it is His acceptance
alone that counts and make it beneficial and a means of Sadaqah
Jaariyah for all those who were involved in compiling this book
and for all those who learn it and teach it to others. Aameen!
If any errors are found in this book, in content or typing, it
would be highly appreciated if pointed out to us so that it can be
reviewed and appropriate corrections be made.
