i) A school has 630 students. The ratio of the number of boys to the number of girls is 3:2.
This ratio changes to 7:5 after the admission of 90 new students. Find the number of

ii) Rs. 7500 were divided equally among a certain number of children. Had there been 20
less children, each would have received Rs. 100 more. Find the original number of
children. [3]

iii) Using ruler and compass only, construct a ΔABC such that BC = 5 cm, AB = 6.5 cm and
∠ABC = 120o. [4]
(a) Construct a circumcircle of ΔABC.
(b) Construct a cyclic quadrilateral ABCD, such that D is equidistant from AB and BC.

i) What must be subtracted from 16x3 – 8x2 + 4x + 7 so that the resulting expression has

boy is asked to draw a card from the box. What is the probability that the card drawn is

iii) Use graph paper for this question. [4]


(Take 2 cm = 1 unit along both x-axis and y-axis.)
Plot the points O(0, 0), A(–4, 4), B(–3, 0) and C(0, –3).
Reflect points A and B on the y-axis and name them A’ and B’ respectively. Write down
their co-ordinates.
