The century of modernization and globalization gives people plenty of opportunities to explore
variety of subject areas. However, in many universities of the world the number of
undergraduates studying technology courses decreased sharply. This essay will discuss causes
and effects of this issue.
To start with, there are several arguments for explaining this tendency of decline in interest in
science and technology among young people. Firstly, I consider that the primary cause is in its
promotion of research-based themes and scientists by authorities, which has led to reduce
interests of students in this specific brunch of study. For instance, in Kazakhstan high school
learners don’t know much about blighty researchers, their achievements, and some breakthrough
technologies, because of the lacking of propagation on the internet, social networks, or TV.
Subsequently, science isn’t favoured by young undergraduates and isn’t developed properly. For
this reason, I believe that inventors and scientific journalists should be supported by government
and be publicized in media space.
Also, people often put forward the argument that science equals to the word complexity, because
youth and adults merely don’t comprehend various challenging terms about biology, chemistry,
geography and etc. As we all know, it is human nature to be afraid of difficult things, which
makes science disciplines less preferred by many learners in universities. If educators taught
science subjects easily and fascinatingly from secondary school, students would be more
encouraged and be more confident in their choice in of scientific fields.
To conclude, in many nations’ universities science courses are pursued by few scholars, as a
consequence of its lacking promotion and sophistication. In my view, the authorities play huge
role in the eliminating these consequences by support and investment.
