Ethics are guidelines on how should people live or behave in certain situation.
The objective of the law is to maintain social order and peace within the nation and protection to all
the citizens. Unlike, ethics that are the code of conduct that helps a person to decide what is right or
wrong and how to act.
Rules are explicit (clear, straightforward) rules that are implemented to maintain the proper behavior of
every individual.
Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board (PCAB), are tasked to issue, deny, revoke licenses
of the construction constructors

Duty ethics are ethics based on duty that should be performed, whether the outcomes are good
or bad. It is based on what they believe to be right regardless of the consequences. Like for
instance you are in a workplace where you believe that you have to follow your boss instructions
or rule regardless of how irrational it may be.
Right Ethics are fundamental rights like right to live, liberty, own a property that other people
should respect. And this rights are protected by the society.
Virtue Ethics are based on the person’s good or bad character traits rather than its action.
People are judge based on their traits.
Fundamental Canons
1. Civil engineers must priorities the safety, health and welfare of the public.
2. Civil engineers are only allowed to provide services in their field of expertise.
3. Civil engineers shall issue public statements only in an objective and truthful manner.
4. Civil engineers must act in a professional manner to avoid conflict.
5. Civil engineers must build good reputation on their services and avoid conflict with other like
competing.
6. Civil engineer must act professionally for the reputation of the civil engineering profession.
7. Civil engineer shall continue to develop their professionalism throughout their careers and also
encourages or provide opportunities to other engineers to develop their professionalism.
