ALYSSA:
'tis of great honor to welcome you to VMU Senior High's
TRICIA & ALYSSA:
Enchanted Gala Night 2023!
ALYSSA: Standing before the crowd of jewels, this is Alyssa Imus.
TRICIA:
With fascinating fondness, this is Tricia Suarez. And we are your hosts for tonight's affair.
ALYSSA: It's the last Friday of March which means that our most awaited night is finally here! To be
honest partner, I haven't been this excited about Friday...since last Friday. Are you excited too, partner?
TRICIA:
To be really honest, excited is an understatement, partner. I feel a huge wave of thrill and delight just by
seeing our dazzling students with their best dresses and suits!
ALYSSA:
I co-sign everything that you've just said, partner. What a glittering assemblage. Our a-listers has spent
hours getting ready for tonight's event.
TRICIA:
For sure! And look at you, you also look dashing tonight, partner. That dress looks so good on you. It
looks so sexy, yet polished.
ALYSSA: Thank you, partner! You look bewitching as well. I love how you did your hair and makeup! You
look so elegant and elevated!
TRICIA: Thank you, partner. Indeed, this is a visual feast for the eyes. Well, there’s no denying that there
are so many reasons to dress up tonight. This evening highlights one of the most meaningful and magical
night of Senior High School and for others, the crème de la crème of their youth.
ALYSSA: You bet, partner! Their journey to the carpet was indeed exhilarating! They all look like they
came straight out of Bridgerton!
TRICIA: I so agree, partner! Speaking of Bridgerton makes me wonder who would be the DIAMOND OF
THIS SEASON?
Or rather, who would be hailed as Gala Night’s King and Queen 2023?
ALYSSA:
Oh, don’t forget about the special awards! I can’t wait to witness who will be announced as those who
stood out from the crowd.
TRICIA: And let’s not forget about our venue! This place is LIT! It’s not even a high moon, yet I can feel
the magic seeping through my bones!
ALYSSA:
Well, you know what they say, “Happiness has no heights when adorned with fairy lights.”
TRICIA: But before tonight’s fairy tale unfolds, I request everyone to please rise to give a Homage to God,
which will be followed by the singing of the VMUF Hymn.
ALYSSA:
You know, Stephen Mitchell once wrote, “Happily ever after doesn’t begin with Once upon a time: it begins
with Now. So, I want to ask our dear guests, are you all ready to live a night to remember? If yes, can I get
an ARIBA?
TRICIA:
I don’t think I heard them loud enough, partner. AGAIN, IF YOU ARE READY TO LIVE A NIGHT TO
REMEMBER, SAY YOUR BIGGEST AND LOUDEST ARIBA!!!
And to cue in the beginning of tonight’s fairy tale, may I call in the charismatic and ever-driven principal of
VMSHS, Dr. Gerry Abenilla. A warm round of applause, please!
ALYSSA:
Thank you so much for that captivating message, sir. Can I hear another round of applause for our
dynamic school principal?
ALYSSA: Heavy it is the head that wears the crown, but for some reason, the succession of responsibility
we are about to witness tonight is a very special one and close to the hearts of the people who helped
build this school. The Key of Responsibility represents the duties and functions given to the Grade 11
students. With it, the commitment to continue protecting the good name of the school, keep the flame
burning, and strive to achieve honor for the beloved Alma Mater.
TRICIA:
And for that, let us all witness the turning over of the Key of Responsibility. I call forth two astonishing
young women of compassion and grace, Ms. Kresja Cyrill B. Munoz, the School Student Council
President as she bestows the Key of responsibility to Ms. Angela Rose Calugay, the School Student
Council President- Elect.
TRICIA:
Partner, you know, seeing these glamorous people we have here tonight lets me relive the time when I
used to be just like them. How about you, partner?
ALYSSA: Oh! I do too, partner. This glam garden and the aura of our students right here makes me take
a trip down memory lane.
TRICIA:
I think it is just amazing how fast time flies and I am sure that before sending off their children -I mean
young men and women in this Gala, their parents also felt the same kind of mixed emotions we are feeling
tonight; the combination of excitement, and maybe a little gassiness for tonight’s events.
ALYSSA: I agree, partner. And for that, let us pull up a chair and let the GRADE 12 class enthrall us with
the Cotillion De Honor. Let us give them a resounding applause.
TRICIA:
Thank you so much for that enticing performance, GRADE 12! At this point let us enjoy another dance
number, but this time, from the bewildering GRADE 11 class in their presentation of Rigodon De Honor.
ALYSSA:
Thank you so much, GRADE 11! That was such a marvelous performance. In a moment, the candle
lighting ceremony will start. But before that, let me enlighten everyone as to what this ceremony means.
The lighting of candle during a JS prom or Senior Night Prom signifies the turning over of responsibility of
the seniors to the juniors as light for the lower year levels. It is also the idea to keep the flame burning in
guidance towards love and compassion for the next generation.
TRICIA:
In this moment, let us all SEE THE LIGHT, AND LET THE FOG BE LIFTED. AND AT LAST, WE’LL SEE
THE LIGHT AND NIGHT BE AS NEW~
ALYSSA:
Let us feast our eyes and ears as our dear students light their candles and sing the powerful rendition of
“Liwanag sa Dilim.”
ALYSSA:
I don’t think I have ever seen something that left me wonderstruck as that from my past experience of
Senior High Night.
TRICIA:
Talk about that lighting of so many candles, tonight’s becoming more and more magical by the minute.
ALYSSA:
Yes, and really an IG reel material as our dear students call it. I believe our monsieurs and mademoiselles
are really indulging the occasion.
TRICIA:
We have a lot more in store for you! But before that, as tonight’s dinner is served by our hard-working
crew, VMUF SHS’s very own band trained by Sir Franz Luke Bustarde shall entertain us with a
flabbergasting performance.
ALYSSA:
ALYSSA:
And now, for the moment everyone has been waiting for…
TRICIA:
SLOW DANCE!!!
TRICIA:
As the music starts, we encourage everyone to please take this opportunity to dance with SOMEONE you
want to remember this night with.
ALYSSA:
So, come on! Get up that chair and ask that SOMEONE with “may I have this dance?”
TRICIA:
Alright! And that concludes our slow-dancing. Everyone, please be seated and we’ll have a lot more of
that in a while.
TRICIA:
ALYSSA:
What a golden hour indeed! I can’t help but notice (mention a number) and (mention a number) while they
were dancing. They were owning the stage with that slow-dance.
TRICIA:
I, on the other hand, can’t keep my eyes from (mention a number) and (mention a number) while they
were dancing as well. I am having a gut feel they may very well win at least one of our special awards
tonight.
ALYSSA:
TRICIA:
ALYSSA:
By this time, I am sure everyone hungers for more of “DANCE FOR ALL,” but the most entrancing sight of
all is yet to see.
TRICIA:
As fairy godmother says to Cinderella, “even magic takes a little time.” So, while waiting for the most
awaited parts of the evening, let all be entertained by the one and only
ALYSSA:
Thank you, AVEN HILLS MUSIC for such a glorious special number.
Earlier, we asked everyone to take the chance and dance with their “special someone”, now, we
encourage everyone to shimmer your dresses and suits, pump your heels and boots…
TRICIA:
As we go on another awaited part of the night, I request everyone to settle down as the awarding
ceremony begins!
ALYSSA:

you, this Dance Club championed the “Dance of the 80’s” during the Student’s Night way back the
celebration of VMUF’s 65th Foundation Anniversary.
