Title: Points, Lines, and Planes
Subject: Geometry Length of Time: 1.8 weeks
Unit Summary: The unit introduces the concepts points, lines, and planes as the basic building blocks of
geometry. Segment relationships are explored and constructions are introduced.

 Students will be able to describe and identify points, lines, and planes.
 Students will be able to determine whether segments are congruent.

 Students will be able to apply the Segment Addition Postulate and the rules of algebra to write and
solve algebraic equations to find the value of a variable.
 Students will be able to construct congruent segments using a compass and straightedge, and/or
dynamic geometry software.
