I Lay My Sins on Jesus

I lay my sins on Jesus, I rest my soul on Jesus,

The spotless Lamb of God; This weary soul of mine;
He bears them all, and frees us His right hand me embraces,
From the accursèd load; I on His breast recline.
I bring my guilt to Jesus, I love the name of Jesus,
To wash my crimson stains Immanuel, Christ, the Lord;
White in His blood most precious, Like fragrance on the breezes
Till not a stain remains. His name abroad is poured.

I lay my wants on Jesus; I long to be like Jesus,

All fullness dwells in Him; Meek, loving, lowly, mild;
He heals all my diseases, I long to be like Jesus,
He doth my soul redeem: The Father’s holy child:
I lay my griefs on Jesus, I long to be with Jesus,
My burdens and my cares; Amid the heavenly throng,
He from them all releases, To sing with saints His praises,
He all my sorrows shares. To learn the angels’ son.
