A Thousand Words Reflection Paper

For me, the movie contains a lot of life lessons to ponder. I've learned three
morals that we should give importance to in our lives. First, is the power of
words to convey one’s emotions because it explores the consequences of it
and how essential mindful communication is. Second is knowing the art of
forgiveness and lastly, is to value everyone around us while their presence is
still here with us. From what I have observed, Jack is the type of person
who always wants to talk but never really pays attention in listening on what
other people has to say. He’s not very careful in terms of his speech that’s
why he often blurt out thoughts that are inappropriate and impolite. He is
somehow manipulative, entitled and often use language to deceive or exploit
other people at the start of the film. Maybe that was also the reason why he
was cursed by the tree, for him to realized that in silence there is harmony,
calmness and understanding. Furthermore, the movie also highlights the
significance of giving forgiveness to one another. Jack's journey serves as a
reminder that forgiveness is not only important for the person seeking it but
also for the one offering it. Through forgiveness, he is able to repair broken
relationships, heal emotional wounds, and find inner peace. And lastly, I came
to realize that our life is indeed short so we have to make it exceptionally
beautiful. On the film, it was shown that he was able to say his last few
words to his loved ones through the remaining leaves on the tree. A line from
Sinja actually caught my attention wherein he says “can you show her you
love her?”. Somehow it’s a real life representation of the famous quotation
“action speaks louder than words”. When we can’t say I Love You’s, we can at
least express it through our efforts and service. This movie taught me that
saying things through words of mouth should not be something we take for
granted. In conclusion, we should say meaningful words to everyone around
us because it will be something that we will be remembered from and be
remarkable to them through the rest of their lifetime.
