Graded task Fall 2023

Video project “A video tour of a significant location”

Guidelines

Due date:
November 26th

This video project is the third graded task of the semester and it will count towards
the 20% of Continuous Assessment. This project will be done in groups of 2 students (3 max).
For this, you should visit a place and describe it as you are recording it. Each student should
speak for about 1,5/2 minutes.

Here are some guidelines to follow for your assignment:

 Gather a great deal of information about the place (location, history, architects involved
and etc.)
 Introduce yourself and your topic at the beginning of your video presentation.
 Use signpost phrases (the next monument I want to talk about...) to introduce a new spot,
or to move to the next idea.
 Voice(s) should be clear, enthusiastic, well-paced and uninterrupted
 The video should be clear, bright, and always showing something in the background
 A music background probably will be distracting, so it is advisable not to have one,
unless it has a special purpose in the video.
 If possible, use a microphone while recording (You can use your phone’s voice recorder
as a microphone). Poor audio greatly reduces the quality of your presentation.
 When recording, start the recording a few seconds before you start talking. When
finished, leave a few seconds at the end. This will make it easier to edit and the blanks
can be removed during editing.
 When your video has been recorded, use an editing application so you can cut and paste
clips together in the order you want and eliminate unwanted scenes. There are many free
editors available.

DUE DATE:
The Speech is due November 26th. Only one member of the group should submit it.
