What is Grammar?

Grammar is generally thought to be a set of rules specifying the correct ordering of words at the
sentence level. Grammar explains how the language should be structured, using various
categories. We study gram-mar to talk more effectively and clearly. For basic language use, an
intuitive grasp of grammar could be sufficient, but those who want to communicate effectively
and artistically will seek out the deeper comprehension and expertise that comes with studying
grammar. If a sentence complies with the guidelines provided by the language's grammar, it is
considered acceptable. For instance, in English, it is grammatically correct to have a subject, a
verb, and an object in order. The statement reads, "The man wrote the letter is acceptable
because it obeys this rule, but the letter is ungrammatical because it violates it (Dr.M.Sudhakar
,2015).Grammar definitions differ substantially depending on one's level of education and
experience in the field. The definition of grammar by a linguist or grammarian might be very
different from that of a layperson. The main reason for this discrepancy is the level of expertise
one has in the topic or the path they have chosen. A grammarian's definition of grammar would
go deeper than a layperson's, which would only touch the surface.more complex elements like
part of speech and word class. A linguist would address the linguistics aspects of language,
including semantics and phonology, among others. There are many different approaches one
could use when studying the incredibly broad area of grammar. (Dalil, Z., & Harrizi, M).Grammar
is the study of words and how they fit together to form sentences. It is like an unseen force
guiding our word choice. The grammar of a language is something that everyone who uses it for
communication, whether consciously or unconsciously, learns (Dr. Pradeep Kumar Debata, M.A.,
M.Phil., Ph.D.).Grammar is one of the language aspects. Therefore someone who learns a new
language formally, in general, will be given grammar lessons. Of course this depends on the level
of the students who are learning. Learning Grammar is an important activity in language learning.
According to the study of language learning which includes a focus on learning grammar (form-
focused instruction), grammar teaching convincingly shows more effective results than teaching
focusing only on the meaning.Learning focuses on grammar, according to Long can be divided in
two. The first FOFs (focus on forms) and FoF (focus on form). The first model of learning focused
on studying grammar. In this model, the grammar is taught separately from the context. The
second model of learning is focused on the meaning and on the grammar that appears on the
material being studied (Nassaji and Fotos, 2007:
