Marketing

= the activity of promoting and selling products or services

= the main goal is to attract new customers and increase profit from sales

Marketing mix - 4P

1. Products
- focuses on appearance (colour, size, design, brand), quality (type of material, ecology) and
service (shipping, insurance, repairment, refunds….)
2. Price
- focuses on price of the product, financing, ….
- there are 2 methods: marketing (competitors or clients) and expanses and costs
- marketing tricks: ending with 9, 2+1 sales, discounts, high price to give the impression of
quality, ….
3. Place
- Focuses on distribution and places where we sell the goods, logistic, ….
- We can sell the goods: in shops, on internet (e-shops), on the stock exchange, auction, fairs
and exhibitions
4. Promotion
- How we reach new customers
- Ads: banners, billboards, tv, magazines, radio, posters, internet, news, social media
- Good logo, slogan, jingle, campaign, …
- PR: our company wants to look good in the eyes of the public: donating to charities,
beneficial events, eco-friendly projects, ….
- Product placement: marketing technique in which a product is showcased in some form of
media – movies, music videos and social media
- Direct marketing: we sell our products directly to the public – by email or telephone
- Word-of-mouth marketing: when costumers talk about a company’s product or service to their
friends
- Branding: creating of our brand, value, …
