Summary

What happens if Sarah’s mother returned to obx during s3, read to find out!
 Time won’t fly, it’s like I’m paralyzed by it...

Sarah was thrilled for John B.

She couldn’t believe it.

His dad was alive.

She was heading back to Tannyhill to get some clothes on her bike when she saw someone
she thought she recognised. Her face was extremely familiar and she seemed to be heading
closer to her and the women looked up at her and that’s when she realised.

oh my god.

That was her mother.

She hasn’t seen her mother in years.

She knew her mother was quite famous in the town as she was a pogue turned kook, almost
opposite of her. She made herself to being a kook by working hard and it must’ve paid off
during her marriage to the Ward Cameron.

Then she left after the divorce, Sarah was young, around 6 or 7, 10 years ago, Rafe being 9 or
10. She remember her mom leaving and her dad telling her not to worry and that she would
be returning, she obviously believed her father, Rafe, not so much, he was older, wiser as one
might say, though she can’t say it ended out well for him,

”Sarah?” a voice spoke out, pulling her out of her thoughts, oh shit! “Sarah, honey, is that
you?”

“Mom?” she asks, she’s curious, why is her mom here? She left. Before she knows it, she’s
off her bike and giving her mom the biggest hug she can, she missed her, especially more
recently as her father became obsessed with the gold and would do whatever he could.

“Sarah, baby, why aren’t you at Tannyhill? I’ve just been, where’s your brother, your dad?”
her mother, Thea, asked.

”It’s a long story, I’m going back, if you want to come, I’ll explain there,” Sarah responds,
and starts to get back on her bike and riding back with her mother following shortly behind
her.

Once they arrived back at Tannyhill, Sarah realised how much of a mess it was, the last time
she was here, Rose drugged her before she kidnapped her onto the Coastal venture where she
realised her dad was actually alive and then he actually tried to kill her. Sarah grimaces and
blinks the tears out of her eyes before walking up the spiralled stairs up to her old bedroom.
She starts to change into some clean clothes and starts to explain what happened, “It started
when I became friends with John B, you know, Big Johns son?” Her mother nodded and she
continued, “he went on a fishing trick and dad came back and he told me that John B had
stabbed him, but I didn’t believe him, I couldn’t believe him, and then John B told me he
killed his dad.” Sarah and a stray tear falling down her cheek and she quickly swiped it,

”Then dad made me go on a plane with the gold and I didn’t want to but he made me,” she
continued, “and then John B stopped him, and sheriff peterkin came to arrest him, then Rafe
um, Rafe killed him,” she stuttered and she looked at her mothers face which jaw dropped,
“they blamed it on John B and John B and I left after he was going to get arrested and we
ended up in Nassau, and we nearly got the gold, but Rafe shot me and I died but I needed up
living and we came home,”

Her mom stared at me and she didn’t know what to say and was about to speak but Sarah
continued,

“no, let me finish, when we came home, John B was arrested and I tried talking to Wheezie,
but Rafe came and he tried to kill me by drowning me, then John B got out and Rafe was
arrested, then dad was about to get arrested and we showed up to the druthers and dad
exploded the boat with him on it,” she continued, more tears falling and her mother looking
so nervous, “He confessed to everything, then Rose drugged me and took me on a boat and
dad was alive and he tried to kill me and we escaped to an island and I’ve just came back,”

“Sarah, baby, I’m sorry,” her mother said to her, tears falling out of her eyes, as well as
Sarah’s, “baby, I know this is a strange question, but I know John B, but who are the others?”

“JJ, JJ Maybank, Pope Heyward and Kiara Carrera,” she responded,

”oh, so I see you’ve joined the pouges?” she teases, “opposite of your mother,” and she gave
a smile, which Sarah smiled back to her.

”I suppose I should go meet uhm my friends again,” Sarah said, smiling at her mom, picking
up the bag she packed,

”Okay, I’ll hopefully see you later,” she heard her mom call out as she left. It felt good to get
it off of her chest, she felt almost lighter. She missed her mom, of course she did, but she just
knew it wasn’t going to end out well.

It never does.
 There it is again, that funny feeling
Chapter Summary

Ward finally comes back to obx, and Sarah shares her news.

Sarah practically smiled the whole way back to the château, she couldn’t believe it, first John
B’s dad is alive and now her mother had finally come back to outerbanks. Sarah loved her
mother, no one else in the world was more important, so when her parents split up, and her
father married Rose, she was upset. More upset than Rafe, and definitely more upset than her
father who just pretended like her mother never existed.

When she came back to the château, John B wasn’t there but JJ was. I guess that was fine.

“Yo Sar, back quick?” JJ greeted her, giving her a small smile,

“Yeah, uhm, I guess something really strange happened,” Sarah explained, JJ looked at her
confused, motioning for her to continue,

“My moms back, I guess,” Sarah averted her eye contact, genuinely a little embarrassed that
she sounds so happy about her mother being back, none of them knew her like she did and
most likely didn’t know what happened between her father and herself after she left.

“What?” JJ asked, utterly confused, her mother was know, for obviously marrying the Ward
Cameron and ‘betraying’ her parents trust, maybe just like she did.

”yeah, i don’t know either, I just saw her when I was going to Tanny Hill, which also, you all
need to be careful, Rafe’s back, and he’s at Tanny Hill and I don’t know,” Sarah breathed out,
obviously worried about her brother being back, after she was shot by him and almost killed
due to the fact he tried to drown her, and shoot her multiple times after that.

“So your mom and Rafe’s back, at the same time, doesn’t that feel a little bit suspicious?” JJ
question her and she just stared at him, she didn’t think about that, maybe they’re working
together to get rid of her or maybe-

“hey, look, honestly, if they are, we are here, Sarah, you’re a Pouge, one of us and we’ll
always protect you,” JJ almost comforted her which weirded her out a little bit. She was
tired.

it had been a long week.

well, basically a long year at this point. she can’t remember the last time she had some proper
sleep and wasn’t awoken by someone trying to kill her.

”yeah, yeah I guess. I think i’m gonna sleep for, uhm, a little while. Goodnight JJ” she smiled
softly at him.

He had finally gotten off of the plane. He needed to find Sarah. He never wanted bad blood,
he was just trying to do what he had to, he never wanted anyone to get hurt. He knew exactly
what he had to do.

and he didn’t care if it made him the bad guy.

John B was being really weird. She’s not sure what’s wrong with him.

”John B you know you can tell me everything.”

”yeah, I know,”

”then tell me,”

”Sarah I’ll tell you what happened, my dad came back and is trying to help us,” Sarah
nodded, confused where this was going, “and you’re dad tried to kill you, and I’m sorry you
can’t accept that,”

Sarah shook her head blinking back tears. She had to go, she didn’t care where, she just had
too.

she dazed out most of the time she was riding, salty, silent tears falling off her face, but she
didn’t care.

She ended up at JJ’s house, she didn’t know how.

she went up to the front door and saw the eviction notice and her heart dropped. She pounded
on the front door but no one was there. She walked out into the grass and sat.

And she sobbed.

Chapter Summary

I'm so so so so so sorry for the really long updates, I've had major writers block and no
motivation so I'll try update more!!!

Sarah banged on the door of JJ's house. The look of his now abandoned house made her feel
sick to her stomach. The dirty floors and the eviction notice. But she kept knocking, shouting
his name, begging.

She couldn't do this anymore.

She collapsed onto the grass, it tickling her bare legs that were bruised and flaking with the
dryness of the island and not being home long since.

Sarah's fingers slowly dug into her palms, an old habit that she kept returning to in times of
need, forming crescent moons that slowly weep blood. She slowly lowered her head into her
knees, taking deep breaths calming the storm in her brain.

"Sarah?" JJ asked, confusion in his tone, and Sarah would probably bet his face if she looked
up, "What are you doing here?"

Sarah slowly looked up, giving a weak smile, "John B and I had a fight, and I didn't know
where to go, Rafes in Tannyhill and I have no idea where my mom is," she explains, her
voice cracking every few words.

"Its fine, Sarah, you can stay with me," he says, patting her shoulder, "What happened
anyways?"

"Well I told him he could tell me anything, and then he told me his dad was back and I
couldn't accept the fact mine tried to kill me." Her voice was clipped and her eyes were
clouded.

"What?" JJ asked, a shocked emotion coming over his face like he couldn't believe what he
heard. He looked through the corner of his eye and saw Sarah faintly nod, "Anyways, its
getting late I think you should go to sleep," JJ told her as she followed him into the once
abandoned house.

He led her to a bedroom, which was small, and covered in dirt and old cans, and she just lay
down as he left.

She stared. Disassociating from her body. Her idea of peace.

She imagined her family, if it were normal. She dreamt of her friends, if they weren't chasing
gold, she dreamt of herself, and how she would've ended out if none of this shit happened.
And she gathered she's better off.

Out of the bubble wrap.

What she wanted, she got it. Some would say she's lucky, and she would argue she was,
friends who understand her, and the best boyfriend, but she could also argue against. She had
nearly been killed multiple times and betrayed countless times by her family.

She heard a ding. From the bag she got at Tannyhill.

From her phone. 10am? How time flies.

From... Wheezie.

"Can you meet me I'll send the adress."

She immediately responded with a yes and got changed out of the clothes she'd been wearing
for days.

As she left, she thought she would inform him where she was going, just incase. She left,
almost excited, she couldn't wait to see her sister. Her favourite memember of her family.

"Wheezie?" She shouted in question, "Wheezie? Where are you-" her voice cut off mid
question.

That wasn't Wheezie.

It was Ward.
