Introduction

This course program is focused on training its participants (Physiotherapists &


Physiotherapy students) to a level where they can immediately start using the
techniques, and hence is designed in a way to allow even students or less experienced
physiotherapists to learn this quickly and be a pro.
The MTT workshop gives quality instructions in theory as well as practical sessions
and demonstrations, on managing Myofascial pain and dysfunction. The program
emphasis on treating the cause of the patient's pain by treating the Myofascial trigger
points in a comprehensive manner.

Course Objectives

To understand the contribution of Myofascial trigger points to the soft tissue pain and
dysfunction.
To understand the biomechanical environment of the trigger point.
To understand the various cause of Myofascial trigger point formation.
To understand the position of primary or secondary trigger point involvement in
many common conditions like osteoarthritis, low back pain and other regional pain
syndromes.
Course Objectives

To develop the highest standards of palpation, applicable to most soft tissue


abnormalities.
To understand and perfect the detection and full deactivation of Myofascial trigger
points.
To use a variety of adjunct Myofascial, heat, stretch, muscle play and movement
therapies to reinforce the deactivation of these noxious points and return the
client/patient to full function.
To be able to prescribe appropriate Home Care Exercises
