Building Information Modelling (BIM) is a collaborative way of working

underpinned by digital technogies, which allow for more efficient methods
of designing, delivering and maintaining physical built assets throughout their
entire lifecycle.

BSI has played a key role in the development of BIM standards:

• PD 19650-0 :2019 – Transition guidance to BS EN ISO
19650.
• BS EN ISO 19650-1:2018 – This part outlines the concepts
and principles and provides recommendations on how to
manage building information.
• BS EN ISO 19650-2:2018 – This part supplies
information management requirements in the delivery
phase of assets.
• BS EN ISO 19650-3:2020 – This part supplies
information management requirements for the
operational phase of the assets.
• BS EN ISO 19650-5:2020 – This international standard
sets out requirements for the security-minded
management of sensitive information within building
information modelling (BIM).
