1.3.1 Manual control The manual control mode is used for diagnosis purposes.
Individual functions (valves) are checked.

Activating manual control: Press key 3 working position and key 6 swather width at front
simultaneously for approx. 7 sec.
The flashing mode of LED 10 will change.

Raise rear gyroscopes. Press key 4 "Transport position".

Lower rear gyroscopes. Press key 3 "Working position".

1.3.2 Emergency The emergency program can be used when an angular sensor fails.

Notes Ÿ The emergency program passes through the various functions within
the period previously stored. This period cannot be changed (basic
settings, rotor height settings and turning area time settings are not
possible).

Ÿ Switching back and forth between the functions "Raise front


gyroscopes" and "Lower front gyroscopes" is not possible.

Ÿ The functions "Lower gyroscopes to working position" and "Raise


gyroscopes to transport position" must always be fully processed.
When one such sequence is interrupted by pressing the stop key, it
must be repeated in order to reach the desired position.

Ÿ When the Control Terminal is deactivated, it will re-start in normal


operation when switching it on the next time. The emergency program
must be re-started.

The front gyroscopes remain raised, the rear gyroscopes are lowered in
working position.

Now either press key 9 = all gyroscopes are lifted, or


press key 8 = all gyroscopes are lowered in working position.

basic settings, an incorrect function will occur:

When pressing key 9 at the end of the field, all gyroscopes are raised to
the pre-programmed height; when pressing key 9 one more time (lower
gyroscopes to working position), the front gyroscopes are not lowered,
but lifted to the transport position.
Remedy: Raise and lower the gyroscopes 20 x (with key 9) in normal
operation.

1. On-board voltage When loaded, the on-board voltage should be between 10 and 16 Volt.

2. Oil supply Oil supply from the tractor should be 35 - 60 litres/minute.

When the functions work flawlessly, check angular sensors one more

6. Re-initialization When the angular sensors are o.k., the machine should be set to the
basic settings one ore time.

7. Activating automatic Activate automatic functions, if not o.k., download program.

Front angular sensor The front angular sensor must be installed vertically (approx. 90°) to the
frame (see picture).

Rear angular sensor The rear angular sensor must be installed in parallel to the frame. The
position of the notch (K) in the actuation lever must point towards the
frame, or upwards with the gyroscopes lowered (see picture).

Function The volume flow of the pump (1) is fed via an additional control unit of
the tractor and the connection P(T) into the flow divider (2).
This divides the incoming volume flow into two equal volume flows that
flow to the hydraulic cylinders (3) and (4) via the connections (A) and
(B).
These volume flows are kept constant by a presure regulator (8) in the
flow divider (2).
This control is also carried out when load differentials arise on the
hydraulic cylinders (3) and (4); e.g. in the event of hilly terrain.

When working or turning on hilly terrain, various different pressure levels


are present in the hydraulic cylinders (3) and (4) depending on the
position of the tools. The pressure relief valve (5) and two non-return
valves prevent a volume flow-transverse flow from (A) to (B) and vice
versa. The hydraulic cylinders (3) and (4) that have been extended will
thus remain in their position.
When reeling in the hydraulic cylinders (3) and (4) the non-return valves
(6) and (7) are cross-flowed.

The pressure relief valve (5) is preset to a level of 30 bar. The pressure
of the pressure relief valve must be deducted from the pump pressure
(tractor) in order to determine the maximum possible working pressure
and thus the lifting power.

Working position (EW) In the working position the hydraulic cylinders (2) are controlled via the
tractor’s single acting additional control unit (EW). In this process the
volume flow enters via the connection (16).

Raise-lower the track Ÿ Open the block cocks (9 and 10) with the red traction cable.
(EW and cable) Ÿ Actuate the tractor’s single-acting additional control unit so that the
volume flow flows via the connection (16).
Ÿ The volume flow flows via the flow divider (11) and the block cocks
(10 and 9) into the hydraulic cylinders (4) – the track is raised.
Ÿ The tractor’s single acting additional control unit must be moved into
the other switch position in order to lower the track.

Transport position The diagram on the right shows the VOLTO 1050 T when
function (DW1) completely retracted to transport position.

Ÿ Actuate the double-acting additional control unit (DW1) of the tractor


so that volume flow flows via port (14).

Ÿ The outside arms are retracted by the hydraulic cylinders (1). In the
final position the valve lift stop (5) opens.

Ÿ The volume flow enters the hydraulic cylinder (2) via the opened valve
lift stop (5) and the flow divider (11).

Ÿ The block cock (7) is closed while the hydraulic cylinder (2) is
extended.

Ÿ After the end of the stroke of hydraulic cylinders (2) and the
subsequent pressure increase to 130 bar, the hydraulic cylinders (3)
are retracted via the pressure secondary valve (6).

Ÿ The valve lift stop (8) is closed after retracting of


hydraulic cylinders (3) has started.

Ÿ At the end of the stroke of hydraulic cylinders (3) the side arms mount
up on the supports of the longitudinal beams.

Ÿ In this transport position the side arms are secured by the lock-up
valve units (13).

Working position The diagram on the right shows the VOLTO 1050 T when
function (DW2) completely extended to working position.

Ÿ Actuate the double-acting additional control unit (DW2) of the tractor


so that volume flow flows via port (15).

Ÿ Volume flow flows into the hydraulic cylinders (3). This lifts the side
arms of the longitudinal beams.

Ÿ While the hydraulic cylinders (3) extend, the hydraulic cylinders (2) are
lowered. The load acting on the hydraulic cylinder (2) directs the
volume flow into the tank via the open valve lift stop(5) and port
(DW1).

Ÿ Volume flow flows into the hydraulic cylinders (1) of the outside arms
via the opened block cock (7). The outside arms extend.

Ÿ While the hydraulic cylinders (1) extend, the valve lift stop(5) is
released and therefore closed.

Ÿ The block cocks (9) and (19) are opened by a rope mechanism. This
directs volume flow from the hydraulic cylinders (4) into the tank via
the valve lift stop(5) and port (DW1). The chassis is lowered.

The chassis and the hydraulic cylinders (2) of the side beams can be
actuated at any time with a single-acting control unit (port EW).
