Crafting an essay on the theme of a life-changing experience presents a unique set of challenges.
This topic demands introspection and the ability to articulate personal growth, emotions, and
transformative moments coherently. The difficulty lies not only in narrating the events but also in
capturing the profound impact they had on one's life. Striking a balance between vulnerability and
objectivity is crucial, as the narrative should be relatable while still maintaining a level of universal
resonance.
The process of writing such an essay requires delving into personal memories, often revisiting
moments that may be emotionally charged. Expressing the essence of these experiences in a way
that engages the reader without veering into melodrama is a delicate task. Moreover, ensuring a
smooth narrative flow while highlighting the significance of the transformative moments can be
challenging.
Additionally, there is the challenge of avoiding clichés and providing a fresh perspective on a topic
that is inherently personal. It's not merely about narrating an event but also about conveying the
lessons learned, personal growth, and the broader impact on one's outlook on life.
To navigate these challenges successfully, it's essential to strike a balance between self-disclosure
and maintaining a sense of privacy. The writer must be able to communicate the emotional weight of
the experience without overwhelming the reader or losing the essay's focus.

Essay about Satan in Paradise Lost and The Myth of Sisyphus
Satan s predicament after he falls in Paradise Lost is utterly hopeless, yet he chooses to
persevere. He reasons that he should continue to struggle, even though he is aware that it
is entirely in vain. The process he follows to arrive at this choice is similar to the process
Albert Camus will use to justify the unrelenting toil of his absurd man. Before this
becomes apparent, portions of Satan as a character must be eliminated from
consideration, because they present an intractable set of problems. Prior to his rebellion,
Satan is a divine being, who stood st in Heav n, upright and pure, (IV, 936 37) like God
and the other angels. We do not get a clear portrayal of this character, only Satan s and
Raphael s memories and ... Show more content on HelpWriting.net ...
Once Satan has been irredeemably dammed, however, he becomes an entirely different
character. He becomes essentially human, in that he simply is a conscious being who
exists and has the choice to either continue to exist, or give up, without any external
evidence to give him a justification for continuing. It is unclear whether suicide is
actually an option for him. Since his continued existence is at God s pleasure, we could
say it is not Satan s choice at all, but then everything Satan does is ultimately at God s
pleasure. And God has given him free will, whatever that means. It is sufficient to say
that Satan does have the option to choose to want to die, event if he might actually be
able to carry out this act. But he does not choose that, nor does he choose to see take the
certainty that his predicament can not really improve as a reason to just quit trying.
Where does he get his justification for this choice? He has to make it up from whole
cloth. The objective evidence says there is no point. He ignores this, and instead invents a
purpose for himself. Once he has succeeded in convincing himself to go on, he as solved
the problem of the absurd man, and may presumably continue to apply this same solution
indefinitely. He may fail and fail, but that changes nothing. He began in failure and
hopelessness, and
Successful Soccer Defender
How to be a Successful Soccer Defender Defense is the back bone of the team!
Defenders must be ready to make a sliding tackle, alert and ready to back up their
teammates in case they make a mistake. Defenders themselves do not have the luxury of
making mistakes, since even a small slip on their part might result in a goal for their
opponents, and a loss that their teammates are likely not to forgive. Being a successful
defender calls for a consistent, reliable and sound performance. I ve been studying the
worlds greatest soccer defenders since I became a defender about 2 years ago. The best
defenders are patient when the offensive player is approaching, they find the right
moment to step in or go for the slide tackle causing the offensive player to lose the ball.
They need to anticipate the play, and be one step ahead of the offensive player. Defenders
have a hard, often unappreciated job. They need mental toughness, and determination to
succeed. The best way to defend your goal is by being aggressive. Good defenders are
aggressive. They aren t afraid to make strong tackles and use their body. They attack
balls with their heads and get in front of shots. Play so aggressive that players are scared
to receive the ball. You want the opposition to fear you. The best defenders are
aggressive and fearless but don t lose ... Show more content on HelpWriting.net ...
Always communicate with your other defending teammates. It s important to keep good
communication with your teammates because you ll know who is going to step in and
block the shot or who is going to fall back into space just in case they decide they want to
play a through ball. Defenders should coordinate to mark players, double team, and
execute an offside trap. When a defender is beaten, someone else needs to cover for him.
Defenders should tell midfielders and other defenders who to mark. A defense with no
communication will be no obstacle for the attacking
Misunderstood Culture In Things Fall Apart By Chinua
Achebe
Preconceived ideas about one s culture often arises from stereotypes passed down from
generation to generation. It is those stereotypes which shape one s way of thinking,
without being educated properly. In the novel Things Fall Apart, by Chinua Achebe,
misunderstood culture is what drives the story of a small African clan called the Umuofia
and the life story of Okonkwo, a fearless warrior and farmer. An in depth look into pre
colonial African culture helps the reader discover and understand an unbiased point of
view of a world one may not understand. In doing so, Achebe uses imagery as well as
strong narration to describe the cultural norms and activities that the Nigerian tribe
undergoes in everyday life. Through this he offers a nonbiased point of view, and
communicates and accurate picture of pre colonial African culture to a western reader.
Achebe uses the tribe s spirituality as a beacon of relation to the western reader. Often
times, westerners believe that African culture and spirituality is riddled with mysticism
and voodoo, however, Achebe describes it differently through the use of imagery. In this
quote, Achebe explains The Feast of the New Yam, and its importance to the Umuofia
people. It was an occasion for giving thanks to Ani, the earth goddess and the source of
all fertility. Ani played a greater part in the life of people than any other deity. (Achebe
36). To the Umuofia, Ani was their explanation of where their vibrant crops and healthy
lives arose
Corruption In Just Mercy By Bryan Stevenson
Someone who is abusing the power that is given to him or her defines corruption,
however, the word in its self is more than a simple idea; it is an intricate network. Since
people s views about ethical and moral behavior affect the way corruption is examined,
the word has a slightly different meaning to each person. Additionally, misconduct across
various societies is viewed differently due to social and cultural borders. The criminal
justice system has had many instances where corruption had affected the outcome of a
case and has inserted itself into the legal process. According to Justice John Molloy who
began practicing law in 1946, justice was much simpler during that time and the judicial
system was straightforward and efficient (Molloy 12). The judges focused on the laws

Normally, if a defendant is arrested and brought to court, the prosecutor must present
enough evidence to make the judge or grand jury believe that the defendant had
committed the crime. In the memoir, Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson, cases regarding
corruption and quick trials are presented to the reader from Stevenson s point of view.
Many times Stevenson implied that characters such as Sheriff Tate and other officers
abused their power to cause hasty trials and take cases that did not have enough evidence
to convict and create false witness testimonies. Testimonies were manipulated to give the
advantage to the prosecutors and when other people spoke up for the defendant they were
either bribed or silenced. For example, in the Walter McMillian case, the testimonies of
his family and neighbors saying he was at his house was dismissed while Ralph Myers
testimony was the key factor for the case. When Myers had admitted that he had lied in
his testimony, he was threatened and harassed by the local authorities (Stevenson

In the book of Exodus, it is about the journey of Moses and how God used him to free the
Israelites from Egypt. Moses was a Hebrew baby that was found by the Pharaoh s
daughter and was raised by them. As Moses got older, he witnessed the cruel way an
Egyptian was beating an Israelite worker. Moses intervened and ended up killing the
Egyptian. Out if fear Moses leaves Egypt and lands in Midian.
While out one day with his flock, Moses came upon a burning bush. That bush ended up
being God. This is where God asks Moses to go back to Egypt to ask the Pharaoh to let
his people go. Moses hesitates and asks God how and why him. During his conversation

Three positive things that this book teaches about humanity is that people can be selfless,
like the way Moses stood up for the Israelites. Also that not all people were evil like the
Pharaoh; like the midwives who didn t participate in the murders of baby boys. The last
is that the dedication and sacrifice of one man saved the lives of thousands. The negative
things this book teaches is that people are selfish, greedy, ungrateful and cruel.

Symbolic Convergence Theory Of Public Health
Convergence Theory
Communication provides sustainable information to everyone throughout the world,
whether it is through signs, pictures, objects or just simply words. Symbolic
Convergence Theory (SCT), simply known as Convergence Theory, accentuates the
importance of mutual agreement, mutual understanding and information sharing through
various groups and community s actions that will ultimately bring social change for the
better of Earth and its community (Figueroa, Kincaid, Rani, and Lewis, 2002, p. 4). The
purpose of this theory in the field of public health is to explain the general tendencies of

Because this theory obtains the criteria of the Evolution Theory, the primary strengths for
the Convergence Theory clearly are: scope, appropriateness, heuristic value, validity,
parsimony and openness. With these six components one can understand how this makes
the convergence theory a good theory. In addition, the weakness for this theory is as
simple as this: because almost all decisions of the Convergence Theory happen to be
subconscious decisions, criticism can occur even though the individuals are not aware of
it. With this, the influential aspect of this theory can be highly limited due to the notion
that this theory just happens without anyone being consciously
Visual Analysis Of Beyonce
Perfection is the disease of a nation, Beyonce sings with a mid pitch mellow note. The R
B singer is known for many different things. She s an actress, songwriter, and an activist.
Beyonce has 6 multi platinum albums that have reached number one on the billboard.
Breaking away from Destiny s Child, Beyonce pursued her solo career in 2006. She
expresses her political views through her music. Her third album I am... Sasha Fierce
expresses how patriarchal and bias modern society is. If I were a Boy track on the album
sends a message about stereotypes between men and women. Beyonce s latest album,
Lemonade, is a visual album released in 2016. Lemonade demonstrate social justice and
women empowerment. Besides the entertainment from the album, the visuals, lyrics, and
Beyonce s tone from each track were also satisfying.
Visuals have a huge impact on a song. It s a visual representation of the music. Visuals
allows listeners to see the mood and the purpose of a song. Beyonce s Hold Up music
video starts off with a very gloomy and dull color scheme. You can tell by the graphics
that Beyonce was in an agonizing position. The atmosphere is very outrageous and
aggrieved. She is walking down the street busting out windows with bat. She is releasing
her frustration. Beyonce s body language expresses how she has no shame in being crazy.
She is smiling as she is damaging cars and other items with her bat. In one part of the

Effects Of Recasts And Prompts On L2 Learners
Ammar and Spada (2006) investigated the effects of recasts and prompts on L2 learners
written and oral ability across different proficiency levels. The study fits in with the
previous research, as in previously the focus of research was just based on CF being a
solution for low levels of grammatical efficiency, which have been explained as the proof
against the accuracy of understandable input and exceptionally meaning based direction.
The researchers have thus proposed FFI in CF, which is based both on reactive and
proactive form of feedback and which has been proposed by the researchers as the most
important way of attracting the learners towards language form in case of communicative
classroom environment. The main motivation, just as in previous article, is to explore the
form focused instruction as alternative way of instruction so as to make CF more
proactive as well as reactive. The main hypothesis of this research is that learners who
have been more exposed to the communicative activities including components of the CF
would probably get more benefits as compared to those who are exposed only to the
communicative activities alone. For this purpose, there were 64 students, who were
divided into three different groups in ESL classes in Montreal and there were two
experimental conditions that were applied to them. One group had received the CF in the
form of prompts as well as recasts. Similarly, other was the control group. The target

Analysis Of Sarah Polley s Stories We Tell
At the beginning of Sarah Polley s 2013 Stories We Tell, a quote by Margret Atwood
appears and states that, In the end, we ll all become stories (Polley). This quote leads to
the main message of the film involving storytelling and the profound significance it
carries in life. As memories form, we reflect on them and the stories that accumulate
from those memories begin to define us. The film begins with Polley presenting her
storytellers, who are all part of the family. She simply asks her family to tell the story,
from the beginning, of her mother Diane. They have their own way of disclosing facts
about Diane, but it s how each person uniquely tells the story that is most interesting.
Whether filled with pleasure, sorrow, or regret, each subject individually describes Diane
s life. This reveals that how one is remembered or even currently portrayed is established
through the memories of others, mysteries and all. Through the use of intimate interviews
of her family members, Polley successfully investigates the reconstruction of her mother
s existence. The memories and stories families collectively tell, even if they are unclear,
are what define the truth. Each person s honesty reveals his or her perspective on the
story of Diane. The film uncovers details of the marriage of Sarah s dad Michael and
mom Diane. Each sibling describes Diane as exciting and Michael as more mellow. The
family members then continue describing the in s and out s of Diane s family, life, and
A Transition Of Fascination And Fear Essay
Introduction A Transition of Fascination to Fear Historically change has been vital in the
emergence of American higher education. John Thelin (2011) expresses The single most
change in American higher education at the end of the 19th century was that college
going became fashionable and prestigious (p. 156). Prior to WWII, the public
romanticized college going as a means to promote social mobility. Throughout the
evolution of higher education, individuals views transitioned from fascination to fear. A
sense of fear was instilled in students as they became aware colleges were not exempt
from violence. The transition inspired legislation of the Clery Act, which puts practices
into place to create safe communities. Has regulation of the Clery Act benefited student
populations? Do higher education institutions exclude certain populations by complying
with the act? Throughout this paper, I will address these questions and critically analyze
the Clery Acts significance within higher education.
The History and Amendments to the Clery Act Before enactment of the Campus Security
Act, there had been a multitude of particularly violent crimes on college campuses,
which threatened the security higher education institutions assured (101st United States
Congress, 1990). Due to this fact, congress proposed a disclosure of campus security
policy and campus crime. Both public and private institutions that received federal funds
were required to prepare and distribute annual
Monetary Policy Essay
Monetary Policy
Monetary policy has some basic goals: to promote quot;maximum quot; sustainable
output and employment and to promote quot;stable quot; prices. The term quot;monetary
policy quot; refers to the actions undertaken by a central bank, such as the Federal
Reserve, to influence the availability and cost of money and credit to help promote
national economic goals. The Federal Reserve Act of 1913 gave the Federal Reserve
responsibility for setting monetary policy.
The Fed can not control inflation or influence output and employment directly; instead, it
affects them indirectly, mainly by raising or lowering a short term interest rate called the
quot;federal funds quot; rate. The Federal Reserve has certain tools at its ... Show more

Using these tools, the Federal Reserve influences the demand for, and supply of, balances
that depository institutions hold at Federal Reserve Banks and in this way alters the
federal funds rate. The federal funds rate is the interest rate at which depository
institutions lend balances at the Federal Reserve to other depository institutions
overnight. The point of implementing policy through raising or lowering interest rates is
to affect people s and firms demand for goods and services. Changes in the federal funds
rate trigger a chain of events that affect other short term interest rates, foreign exchange
rates, long term interest rates, the amount of money and credit, and, ultimately, a range of
economic variables. This shows how policy actions affect real interest rates, which in
turn affect demand and ultimately output, employment, and inflation.
Monetary policy can be quickly altered and can affect money supply and investments
very fast thus making speed and flexibility one of its strength. Members of the Feds
board are appointed a 14 year term. This isolates them from lobbying so therefore no
political pressure to contend with. The tight monetary policy helped the economy
succeed from 1980 thru to 1990 by bringing down the inflation rate.
Monetary policy is not all strengths there are weaknesses also associated
The Military Commander Of Galactica Essay
One of my favorite quotes pertains to the current state of police is from an early episode
of Battle Star Galactica; the military commander of Galactica (William Adama) is in a
discuss with the President of the Twelve Colonies (Laura Roslin) about her wish to use
the remaining military force as a police force. Adama states There s a reason you separate
military and the police. One fights the enemies of the state, the other serves and protects
the people. When the military becomes both, then the enemies of the state tend to
become the people. (Finke, 2014)
I. Introduction
The police of any democratic society are faced with an inescapable dilemma by their
profession: Their role in the society requires that they competently balance the legal
authority they have been bestowed by the public (government) with their responsibility to
protect public safety as a whole while protecting individual rights. Police officers are a
visible figure of government authority. They have been granted the power to stop, detain,
question, arrest, and when required the use deadly force, at the same time being
conscious to the wishes of the public. Police officers are required to carry out complex
tasks while respecting important legal and constitutional protections. There have been
times when law enforcement(police) has been required to enforce unpopular laws while
attempting to foster or maintain public support. How much force the police uses to
balance these concerns often determines

the song has operated as an articulation of obsessed resistance to the hard work of laying

this performance is a pay day party, a social event that celebrates the pay off of

of the ever present threat of replacement by machines, while John Henry s story also
serves to compare with the workers attitude on the job. John Henry dies in his attempt to

they can control, manipulate and lord over.
Thesis: Mary explains her essay with use of the word cute and she does it by associating

and inferring that nature is not cute, but wild and powerful.
Oliver s use of the word cute is one term I never considered colored. When I first read
her essay, I figured she meant civilization and control was cute , but as I read on I realize
that the term cute is a negative connotation that in her opinion means submissive and

The 8 Most Important Dos Don ts for People Facing Hair Loss
Most of the time, hair loss is unavoidable and caused by genetics, aging or hormonal
imbalances. Other times, hair loss is the outcome of bad lifestyle habits or diets. We ve
talked a bit about the causes and how to prevent hair loss [link back to previous article].
Here are the most important dos and don ts for people facing hair loss that you might not
know about.
Styling products are loaded with chemicals that may damage your hair and scalp. Men
also tend to tug on their hair while using styling products, applying lots of force to their
hair for a hairstyle they want to achieve. Harsh force tends to break off finer hairs and
leaves no chance for new hair to survive. Be careful with what hair styling products you
use and how you use it. Sometimes the natural look is the way to go when you re facing
hair loss. http://uk.askmen.com/fashion/fashiontip_500/549_hair loss dos donts.html 2.
Don t cover up with a cap
If you re thinking of covering up your hair loss issues with a cap, don t! Hats are in direct
contact with your hair and increase the stress your hair experiences to cause hair loss.
Any kind of stress on your hair like combing, pushing your hair back or tying a tight
ponytail can lead to hair loss. Reducing stress on your hair will definitely help with
combating hair loss.
The sum of the parts does not always equal the whole, especially in poetry. In the
anthology On the Blossoming, Lea Goldberg explores the concept of desire. On the
surface, this idea seems well analyzed and discussed. However, by carefully tracking
words, symbols, and images across the poems Dialogue , Songs of the Foxes , and Clear
Autumn, Goldberg slyly elucidates the ephemeral nature of desire, the dichotomy
between actions and emotions, and all the while exposes an over arching narrative. Word
choice plays a crucial role in understanding the poem Dialogue. The words love , body ,
bore , shape , and lips are all used in this short poem. Immediately, this keens the reader
into a commentary about love between the two speakers, He and She. The conflict in the
poem arises from He being bound to love full of abundance and splendor and She being
inhibited, by an immense barrier, to love. She even exclaims how without love, She s
blind, and that if this [love] were to occur She d be resurrected. Furthermore, She
mentions how currently nothing remains to survive, that her present is banal. The poem
thus takes on the form of a warning call about how a romance can only truly come to
fruition through requited love. This reciprocation enables a healthy open mind, as
opposed to a singular lens of a He or She. The idea of a requited romance and selection
of lustful words are not unique to Dialogue , similar motifs and techniques occur
throughout
Police Power In Achieving Justice In The Law Enforcement...
The criminal justice system is effective in achieving justice, in relations to police power
and authority. Police are tasked with an essential role in protecting and enforcing the law.
They are a critical aspect towards the criminal justice system and the criminal
investigation process. To assist their role to the community, they ve been provided
several types of powers and authorities to achieve their duties towards the community.
These authorised powers are used to stop, search and detain a person when they re certain
a crime is committed. Consequently, police can use this authority to potentially violate
another individuals right, such as privacy. Whilst this power allows police to fulfil their
duty to the community, is that justifiable to violate an individuals right?
Police makes the decision whether to investigate a crime based on the likelihood of
success, available resources and priorities or the severity of the offence. Police can use
several methods and authorised powers to assist their investigation. Most of NSW Police
s powers are listed out in the Law Enforcement (Powers and Responsibilities) Act 2002
(NSW). Law Enforcement (Powers and Responsibilities) Act 2002 (NSW) is an act
introduced in 2001, which outlines police powers and authority. Main police powers in
investigating crime are: arrest, search and seizure, access to information (computerised
operation policing system), interrogation and use force is necessary to carry out duties.

The Effect Of International Marketing Environment On...
The importance of Marketing as a concept, a practice and an orientation as being
fundamental to the competitiveness and the survival of any business entity cannot be
over emphasis in today s business environment. (Kotler, 2011). Most businesses are
expanding and getting into new market areas for economic and strategic reasons and it is
becoming increasingly difficult, if not possible, for companies to insulate themselves
from the effect of international marketing environment, even if their products are
designed for purely local environment.
For any marketing plan to be successful, it must take into account all the various factors
that can directly or indirectly affect the marketing activity which is usually done through
Political, Economic, Social and Technological analysis commonly known as the PEST
analysis. (Kotler, 2011) . It addition to conducting PEST analysis the plan should also

One of King s most famous works, and its fame is partly because of the movie, is the
Green Mile. It has many Christian qualities throughout. The Green Mile, a large, African
American man named John Coffey, seems to mirror the life of Jesus Christ, although the
story is set in the death row area of a depression era prison ( The Writing Style of
Stephen King, para 35). The story really hits home with people about the selflessness of
Jesus Christ. For Christians and people who have a general idea of the Bible, they will
understand this story. John Coffey was prosecuted for from something he did not do. He
was a healer of the sick. He used supernatural powers to help the sick, as he heals one of
the Ward s wife who has a brain tumor towards the end of the novel. In The Green Mile,
King uses magical realism to introduce his readers to supernatural elements taking place
in an ordinary realistic environment (The Writing Styles of Stephen King para 20). In life
we can experience things that do not seem real even though they can happen is why it is
magical to us. Sometimes people feel like they are accused of things do not do and have
to get punished for it, just as Coffey was. John eventually has to die for the sins he did
not commit, but he does not go without first teaching a lesson
Development Of Information Communication Technology
Introduction
The progressive advances in technology have resulted in remarkable life style change.
This has particularly impacted the education system, traditional educational approaches,
which were focused at the classroom were very limiting due to the extensive curricula.
Time allocated to individual classes is not enough for teachers to explain all the content,
to solve case studies and to teach students skills, such as oral and written communication,
critical and creative thinking, group work, and a usage of new learning technologies.
Knowledge and skills for innovative and complex problem solving within
multidisciplinary environments can be acquired through non traditional learning methods
which include a concept of learning through problem solving, and collaborative and
virtual learning. According to (Benbunan Fich and Hiltz, 2003), collaborative learning
has been found to significantly enhance the learning process and student participation.
Studies have demonstrated that collaborative learning results in higher achievement and
Wicca Invocation
The word invoke, as defined by Merriam Webster, means to petition for help, to call forth
or summon, or to solicit through an earnest request. Its first use occurred in the 15th
century. The word invoke is from Middle English envoken from the Middle French very
invoquer. This originated with the Latin verb invocare, which is composed of the root
vocare meaning to call , and can be found in such words as voice and vocation. This is
the same as that found in the word envoke. The Latin word invocare means to call upon,
or implore. When used as part of the noun invocation, the word means to petition (to God
or a god) for aid or comfort , such as a prayer, but can also mean a summoning of evil
spirits . I believe all of these definitions are applicable to the use of the word in Wicca.
On its most basic level, invoking is calling something within yourself. When this is done,
it is also a way of petitioning a deity for assistance. And while it is possible to summon
evil spirits, it is the summoning of benign spirits, elements, entities and deities that form
the basis for invoking within the Wiccan faith. It is calling them within yourself to work
with the combined energy. In the Wiccan practice, the process of invocation is a powerful
tool and is a form of voluntary possession. You are temporarily replacing ... Show more

I know that it requires a lot of energy, a more than passing understanding of the deity or
spirit that you are trying to invoke, and the intent to do so. I m sure a practitioner can
have varying degrees of success with this. Some experiences may be more memorable
than others. But I welcome the opportunity and look forward to reaching the point where
I can try this. Combining the energies of the Goddess with my own would be an amazing
feeling. However, I think this is something I would use on special occasions, as it seems
to be something that should be used with
The Pros And Cons Of Progressive Tax
The reason why progressive taxation is considered fairer and why flat taxation policy is
avoided is because the people with lower income have lower ability to pay and the major
part of their income is spent on necessities, a flat taxation policy would burden them
more. Both the taxation policy have their pros and cons. A progressive tax shifts the
burden on the people with higher income, it reduces the amount that the people with
lower income pay. Because it reduces the burden of tax it results in reduction for the need
of subsidies. Meanwhile a flat taxation system reduces the tax burden on people with
high income and gives them an opportunity to further increase their investment. Several
reasons can be given to justify progressive taxation policy over flat taxation policy. One
reason is that those who earn more can afford to pay more, without having to curtail their
standard of living or in any way reducing their chances of prospering Also another
important justification is that the small businesses find it difficult and struggle more
compared to the big ones and hence burdening them with large amount of tax will ...

For example, economists Thomas Piketty and Emmanuel Saez wrote that decreased
progressiveness in US tax policy in the post World War II era has increased income
inequality by enabling the wealthy greater access to capital.[14] Conversely, a report
published by the OECD in 2008 presented empirical research showing a negative
relationship between the progressivity of taxes and economic growth.[15] Describing the
research, William McBride, a staff writer with the Tax Foundation, stated that
progressivity can undermine investment, risk taking, entrepreneurship, and productivity
because high income earners tend to do much of the saving, investing, risk taking, and
high productivity
Personal Narrative Essay About Fentress
Fentress (POV)
No don t ever say that please Hannah I say as I grab her hands. She pushes away from me
but I pull her closer. She starts crying and fighting me. I keep pulling her close and then
she wraps her hands around me and embraces me. I hold her in my arms not knowing
what to do.
She cries for about five minutes then we just start talking about things. She talks to me
about how she didn t like killing people in Korea but she tried. The boy she killed that
was Tomas s brother was only 15. She told me she was going I into one of the building
where she was told there were US soldiers being held hostage. Well it was a trap they
started shooting and the two boys were standing in the door and she shot one and fled out

and open it. Hey Fentress I say letting her inside. I walk to the bathroom and take some
medicine then walk back out to the living room. I grab my coat and put it on.
Let s go I say as I open the front door. Before locking up I grab my backpack. When we
are in the car it is pretty silent. The only thing Fentress says is that it is a nice morning.
I am going to start driving myself into work after today I say as I put my hands up to the

problem for me. I am serious like it is no big deal She says as we are pulling up to the

I want to drive myself because I think our friendship does not need to be worked on

but I just can t back track on things of the past. I am not in the position to start caring
about anyone, I mean friends. I haven t really had any friends and so I never
Sadequain Biography
Sadequain is one of the personalities of Pakistan who received critical acclaim for his
work not only as an artist but also as a poet. His contributions to the field of art and
literature in the form of paintings, murals, drawings, calligraphies, collections of
quatrains etc. are highly valued. He was part of the Progressive Writers and Artists
Movement. He was a legendary artist and he painted approximately 15,000 pieces of
artworks. What was written about him in some very prestigious newspapers and
magazines; clearly reflect the importance and value of Sadequain s work. The newspaper
Le Monde of Paris, France commented in its April 1964 edition: The multiplicity of
Sadequain s gifts is reminiscent of Picasso. Sadequain was awarded several prestigious
titles like Tamgha e Imtiaz in 1960 and President s Medal for Pride of Performance in
1962. He was one of the greatest artists of Pakistan and his work, awards and titles are a
clear depiction of that. Introduction ... Show more content on HelpWriting.net ...
He was not content with simply painting images; rather, he utilized his artistic abilities as
way of expressing his realistic approach and imparted messages to the mankind through
use of strong and creative symbols. (About Library and Essays | sadequainfoundation)
Sadequain s paintings were dominated by distinct and powerful idioms which reflected
his school of thought. For instance; he analyzed the cactus plant as a symbol of triumph
of life over environment. His analysis focused on how the plant survives in harsh
conditions and how it points upwards even in hostile circumstances. For Sadequain
cactus symbolized survival against all odds. Cactus is just one example of the unique
interpretations Sadequain showcased in his work. Other dominant themes include; Sun

The 7 Ecosystem Functions Between Two Habitats Types
In order to analyze the data for the 7 ecosystem functions between two habitat types
(forest vs. pasture, for example) to address the questions, I am going to use the following
statistical analyses: 1. Nested ANOVA, which will tell us the if there is a significant
difference of the ecosystem functions between two habitat types. 2. Correlation matrix,
which will tell us if there is an association between the microbial respiration and
biological nitrogen fixation with the expression and activity of 5 extracellular enzymes.
3. Analysis of beta diversity patterns of ecosystem functions by principle coordinate
analysis (PCoA). 1. Nested ANOVA: Since the question says that You have collected data
on 7 ecosystem functions , I am assuming I do not need to describe how I have got the
data. As far as I understood I just need analyze the data by appropriate statistical
method(s). The soil sampling protocol was designed to provide sufficient replication
within and across land use types such that statistically rigorous techniques could be used
for comparative analysis of the data for7 ecosystem functions. If I tabulate the data for
statistical analysis, it should look like the following: Data on each of 7 ecosystem
functions (nitrogen fixation rate/respiration rate/ alpha
amylase/lipase/protease/xylanase/pectinase) of two contrasting habitat types Forest

The Physics Of Our Science Classes
In the 21st, in our science classes, we are taught to believe that our world is actually
made up of particles as the smallest constituents of matter. We are told that particles
behave like waves because it makes no sense to teach that a particle moves faster than the
speed of light, that particles can cause interference with one another, among other
ridiculous things that we just never imagine a particle to do. What we are not told is that
we never had to think about the smallest elements of matter, also known as, quanta, as
particles. Instead, we can describe quanta as being excitations of fields, i.e., waves. There
is no supporting evidence that a wave can behave like a particle, the evidence only points
to experiments evaluating the data using wrong techniques, and assuming that a particle
was in the place of a wave. I. Introduction Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for
tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning. Einstein Every day, thousands
of people go to class and learn. If you visited a class taught before Albert Einstein s
Theory of Special Relativity was popular, your professor might have taught you that
there was some magical ether that explained away Newton s classical equations of
motion. But as years went on, Einstein s idea caught on and now we are taught that there
is no ether we proved it through thorough experiments. Unfortunately for those who don
t want to give up the current equivalent of a magical ether, wave/particle
The Absolutely True Diary Of A Part-Time Indian And The...
What s In a Name?
The books The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian (written by Sherman Alexie)
and The House on Mango Street (written by Sandra Cisneros) follow young adolescents
as they come of age throughout the novel. In the former, Alexie writes about Junior s
struggle to come to terms with both his place in his Native American heritage and his
new found home in an all white school. The later contains the story of a young Hispanic
girl striving to defy the gender roles set in place by her family and society. The role of
society in both of these books, plays a key role in how their respective main characters
view themselves and their names. In The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian
and The House on Mango Street the characters struggle with an identity crisis relating to
their names, and the stereotypes that are associated with them.
Junior grows up on the reservation where he has been bullied his whole life for being
different, only when leaving does he learn to accept his differences, and all aspects of his
personality, both Arnold and Junior. When he first enters Reardan his birth name is
introduced as Arnold, and when he tells people his name is junior they do not believe
him. Consequently, when he first meets Penelope he introduces himself as Junior, then
when his birth name is revealed he says this She accused me of telling her my real name.
Well, okay, it wasn t completely my real name ... My name is Junior, I said. And my

Being An Elementary Education Major The National
Education
Being an Elementary Education Major the National Education Association or the NEA
seemed to be a great organization to research, and possibly join in the future when I
become an educator. When I finish my studies at the University of Alabama I plan to stay
in the state of Alabama and teach.
In 1857, a total of forty three educators met in the state of Philadelphia. They came
together to answer a national call to unite and talk about the cause of education in the
United States. During that time learning to read and write was a treat for almost student.
For African American students it was sometimes even a crime. Around 150 years later,
the voice of the spreading Association had risen to almost 2.7 million educators, and

Lawsuits for sexual harassment, physical abuse, and racial discrimination have grown
steadily in the last few decades and can threaten a teacher s job and reputation. Another
benefit is defense against harsh treatment fom board members with petty criticisms
through the local collective negotiating. Unfortunately, both are necessities in the
education business. These teachers also feel that the NEA is their best hope for obtaining
higher salaries and a voice in the administration of their schools. The other group joins
because they have to, their school district has agreed to allow a closed shop to exist,
where all teachers must pay some level of union dues. Few teachers join because they
wholeheartedly believe in the political and social agenda of the NEA. The union is often
far left of its membership on many issues. One thing that can be agreed on by everyone is
that the NEA is very large, very wealthy, and very powerful. Recently surpassing the
Teamsters in size, the NEA has over 2 million members, making it the largest union in
America. Past Secretary of Education Lamar Alexander once said that, After the post
office, schools are the most unionized activity in America.
The uniqueness of the National Education Association is found in the fact that it is a near
monopoly supplier of teachers to a government enforced monopoly consumer, the public
schools. As the NEA has grown in power politically, it has also been able to govern the
destiny of this
Great Barrier Reef Stakeholders
A major stakeholder in the Great Barrier Reef is UNESCO The United Nations
Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. UNESCO is in charge of the World
Heritage List, a selection of sites across the world which are considered of outstanding
universal value and meet at least one out of ten selection criteria. This list includes such
wonders as the Silk Roads in China, the Cathedral of Notre Dame in France, the
Pyrenees in Spain, Stonehenge, and the Great Barrier Reef.
The Reef was declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1981, as the world s most

Steam is the largest software and gaming community hub ever used to distribute video
games and related media online. Steam makes up over 75% of all computer game sales
and as of 2012 Steam now offers software for music creation, video editing, video game
creation, and much more on top of the 3,000 games they have in the cloud as well. Steam
provides its users, which includes over 75 million people, with automatic content
management, an interactive profile, friends, groups, chats, networking, match making
and even card trading (Richardson, 2012). Steam also allows users to create their own
content through their Steam Workshop. The Steam Workshop is a tool within the Steam
software platform that allows gamers to edit pre existing in game assets to create their
own games, models, and video game ideas. This feature alone has helped computer
gaming become the huge community in society that it is. Steam has brought together
gamers to have them create content of their own and have their own product on Steam
(Kowalczyk, 2014). This has created a cycle in video game creation and is allowing more
and more content to exist which is allowing the gaming community to grow and thrive
much more than before. The gaming community is also getting a huge increase in
developers because anyone can make a game without even having to think about the
physical production and distribution aspect of business.
With a service like Steam physical video game manufacturing and distribution has been

The Harappan Civilization Of Indus River Valley
The Indus River Valley, located in present day Pakistan was a full fledged civilization
that emerged in 3300 B.C.E. The Harappan Civilization, stretching from present day
Afghanistan to Pakistan contained vast amounts of small communities. The society was
very technologically advanced and somewhat modeled the fundamentals of the society
we live in today. The Harappan society was one of the earliest to have a system of
writing; however historians have still not interpreted them today. Nevertheless, the
society left us numerous archaeological and architectural ruins that provide much
information. Harappa, an Indus River Valley that left us no written records, but only
some remains helped us understand the society s urban planning, trade, lifestyle and
mortality rate.
From the remains that were left by the Harappan society; today archaeologists can
understand the civilization s urban planning. In the last few years, archaeologists
discovered major structures that belonged to the time period of 2600 B.C.E. These
structures were made from baked bricks. These structures gave us clues about the
material that was used from the planning of the city. From such remains, archaeologists
were able to learn that house sand streets were laid out in a certain pattern, which was
from North to South and East to West. There were multistoried houses that were found,
giving us information that houses were present in the Harappan Civilization many like
the ones today. There were also parts of
