Comparison Contrast Essay

Writing a Comparison Contrast Essay can be a challenging task that demands careful consideration
and analytical thinking. The difficulty lies in the need to explore the similarities and differences
between two or more subjects while presenting a cohesive and well-organized argument. It requires
a deep understanding of the chosen topics and the ability to highlight their distinctive features.

One of the complexities of this type of essay is striking the right balance between comparison and
contrast. Ensuring that the similarities are effectively highlighted without overshadowing the
differences, and vice versa, requires a keen sense of judgment. Additionally, crafting a compelling
thesis statement that encapsulates the essence of the comparison without oversimplifying the
subjects is crucial.

Furthermore, managing the structure of the essay can be a daunting task. Organizing the content in a
logical sequence, providing meaningful transitions between paragraphs, and maintaining a coherent
flow of ideas pose significant challenges. It's essential to avoid a mere listing of facts and instead
weave a narrative that guides the reader through the connections and disparities between the
subjects.

In-depth research is another hurdle to overcome. Gathering relevant information to support the
comparison and contrast requires thorough investigation, critical reading, and a discerning eye for
credible sources. Balancing the amount of information for each subject is vital to ensure a fair and
unbiased presentation.

Editing and revising the essay also contribute to the difficulty. Achieving clarity and conciseness
while refining the language and structure demands careful attention to detail. Striking the right tone
and maintaining an academic style without becoming overly complex is a delicate balancing act.

In conclusion, writing a Comparison Contrast Essay involves navigating various challenges,

including maintaining a balance between similarities and differences, structuring the content
cohesively, conducting thorough research, and refining the essay through meticulous editing.
Despite the difficulties, mastering this skill can lead to the creation of compelling and insightful
essays.

worth discussing. The story s characters are quite memorable and provide for interesting
character studies; in addition, the plot and themes of the story are also noteworthy.

The most elaborately detailed character is Mrs. Whipple. She is the dominating member
of the Whipple family; despite her belief in men s work as opposed to women s, she
seems to have a great deal of say in family decisions. Mrs. Whipple is extremely
concerned with status and appearances indeed, overly so. This preoccupation of hers is

It seems as though the Whipples take advantage of their son s retardation. They never
speak directly to Him, and refer to their son only as He and Him ; thus, we never learn
His name. They also take advantage of the fact that He seems indifferent to pain or cold,
so they give His blankets to the other children, and give Him tasks the other children
seem to have sense enough not to do. By the end of the story, we learn that He might not
be as dumb as He appears. Nevertheless, we know that Mrs. Whipple does love her son
(as well as her other children). She constantly talks about Him, and her intense
outpouring of emotion at the end of the story supports the fact that she loves Him and
indicates she feels some grief about the situation. She knows that there was nothing she
could do to make up to Him for His life, and we feel the Whipples have made the right

for His life, and we feel the Whipples have made the right decision to put Him in the
County Hospital. Unfortunately for the Whipple family, another defining characteristic of
Mrs. Whipple is that she drowns herself in self pity. She seems to consider many things a
mortal pity and once even complains to her husband, I wish I were dead! Of course, she
would never say this to the neighbors, for appearances sake.

Mr. Whipple is the sensible one in the family. He is

Macbeth may have seemed traumatized and felt terrible for killing King Duncan, but that
certainly doesn t stop him from killing anyone that he sees a threat.

One of the reasons that Macbeth is eviler than Lady Macbeth is because he doesn t stop
killing after Duncan. Macbeth decided to use his power for evil, by hiring to murders to
kill Banquo. He chose to kill him because he s worried that the witches prophecy will
come true. The prophecy was that Banquo will father kings. Lady Macbeth had no idea
that he was going to murder Banquo. Which therefore makes Lady Macbeth innocent and
has nothing to do with killing Banquo. Be innocent of the knowledge, dearest chuck, /
Till thou applaud the deed. (Shakespeare, 95). Macbeth was just too selfish, evil and
power hungry to realize what he was doing would hurt people like Fleance, Banquo s
son. The second reason Macbeth is eviler than Lady Macbeth is because he then went on
and killed Macduff s family. Which left him with nothing left to love. Macbeth, once
again sent out his murderers, but this time they went and killed Macduff s family. Duncan
s son Malcolm fled to Macduff and his family, which got Macbeth worried. So his
solution to most things is just to kill people. Macbeth killing and him making evil choices
