Section 9 of RA 6713 contains the “Divestment”

avoid conflicts of interest at all
times. When a conflict of interest
arises, he shall resign from his
position in any private business
enterprise within thirty (30) days
from his assumption of office
and/or divest himself of his
shareholdings or interest within sixty
(60) days from such assumption.

1. Any violation of this act – a fine not


exceeding 6 months’ salary or suspension not
exceeding 1 year or removal
2. Violations under Section 7, 8, and 9
• Imprisonment not exceeding 5 years or a
fine not exceeding Php 5000 or both
• Disqualification from holding public office
3. Prohibited acts regarding SALNs and
Financial disclosures (Section 8D) – a fine not
more than Php 25,000
