Earthwork

1 To propose platform level


a) To obtain site plan (from Architect) and survey drawing (from surveyor)
b) Proposed Platfrom Level with below considerations :
i) To suit neighbouring lot and existing road level
ii) To check exisitng drain invert level & sewerage invert level
iii) Internal Road Level min 150mm lower than Building Level normally
iv) External Road Level min 150mm lower than Internal Road Level
v) Proposed Level to be confirmed by Ir Soo or/and Client before proceed further
2 To calculate overall cut and fill quantities.
i) Cut and Fill Quantities shall be excluded 150mm Think Top Soil Removal normally (Subject to site condition)
ii) Cut and Fill Quantities shall be based on Earthwork Level.
iii) Revised proposed platform to optimum earthwork quantities if needed
3 To design silt trap and earth drain based on MASMA 2
i) Silt trap shall be located at lower location and near to existing drain
ii) Silt Trap depth normally is 1.2m depth (minimum) from platform road level
iii) Earth drain starting depth shall be 0.6m depth based on guideline.
4 To design wash through
i) check with local authorities requirement whether Concrete Type or I Beam Type
ii) Wash through shall be located near entrance.
iii) Crusher run shall be provided in between wash through and existing premix road in order to keep cleanliness
5 To proposed entrance slab
i) Either temporary or permanent entrance slab subject to site condition and client's decision
6 To proposed interlocking pavement
i) Please refer to local authorities' requirements.
ii) Some authorities prefer road resurfacing if damaged and/or before CCC inspection
iii) For JKR road, Interlocking pavement is not allowed.
7 To proposed Project Signboard, Temporaray Hoarding and Gate
i) Please refer to local authorities' requirements.
8 To proposed temporary road signage
i) Please refer to local authorities' requirements.
9 To proposed slope if required
i) Fill slope shall be 1:2 with maximum 3m height while Cut Slope shall be 1:1.5 or 1:1 with maximum 4m height
ii) Slope must be located within boundary. If outside boundary, it shall be obtained consent letter for neighbouring lot owner
iii) Please refer to local authorities' requirements.
10 To proposed Retaining Wall or equivalent retaining element if required
i) Type of retaining element must be complied with local authorities requirement.
Remark : Submission Drawings must be followed local authorities checklist
Road & Drainage
1 To design Onsite Detension (OSD)
a) To check with JPS District or State whether the development area has existing Centralised OSD
i) If yes, submit "Surat Pengecualian OSD" to JPS State and attached the said letter during KM Submission
ii) If no, please proceed on new OSD design based on MASMA 2
- Detemined OSD type : natural slope or tank (RC or Terramesh)
- Centralised OSD calculation based on overall development area.
- Centralised OSD area shall be 3-5% of development area
- Centralised OSD shall be located at lower location and near to existing drain
- Individual OSD calculation based on building lot area only.
- Both OSD invert level must be suit to site condition
- OSD Final Discharge Invert level advisable to make it min 300mm higher than receiving drain invert level
- Please calculate required depth for receiving drain for its catchment area to prevent backflow.
- To provide inlet, primary outlet, secondary outlet, trash screen, cat ladder etc
2 To design drainage system
i) To determine type of drain : Half Round Drain, Block Drain, RC Drain, U Drain, Pipe Culvert or Box Culvert
- Please refer to local authorities' requirements.
- Minimum width of drain type to be provided as per local authorities requirement
- Minimum starting depth for drain shall be 450mm from road level or follow local authorities guideline
- Minimum depth from road level for 600mm dia & 750mm dia pipe culvert shall be 1000mm from road level
- Minimum depth from road level for pipe culvert with 900mm dia and above shall be summation pipe culvert diameter+300mm depth
- 150mm depth reserved for concrete surround and 150mm reserved for premix layers
- To check there is no crashing between drainage and sewerage pipe for crossing area
- minimum different level shall be summation of Sewerage Pipe outer diameter plus 150mm thick for drain slab base
- If depth is restricted by existing invert level, provide wider drain with more gentle gradient
- For U drain and box Culvert, please refer to manufactures' catalogue. Preferable using ready made dimension.
- To provide cut off drain for steep road.
ii) To design sump
- To provide at drainage connection
- To provide at every min 12m or 15m c/c for concealed drain. Please refer to local authorities requirement
- Sump shall be 300mm wider than bigger receiving drainage width.
- To determined maximum depth for brickwall sump as per local authorities requirement. RC Sump shall be provided for deeper depth
iii) To determine type of grating : Galvanised Iron, Mild Steel, FRP or Precast Compresssed Concret Slab
- Heavy duty type for traffic area
- Light duty type for green and walkway area
iv) To provide trash screen at last sump
v) To provide guardrail and/or MS railing next to deep drain if necessary
Remark : External drainage system shall be refer to local authorities requirements
Remark : Internal drainage system shall be refer to architect and/or client design
3 To design road reserved
i) To design premix road
- Thickness of premix, crusher run and sand shall be refer to local authorities requirements
- Minimum width of road reserved shall be refer to local authorities requirements
ii) To provide road marking and road signage
iii) To provide hump at housing area. Please refer to local authorities requirements
iv) To provide type of kerb either Precast or Cast Insitu. Please refer to local authorities requirements
- 225mm Scupper drain or kerb opening to be provided at every 6m c/c
v) To design permanent entrance slab
Remark : External road design shall be refer to local authorities requirements
Remark : Internal road design shall be refer to architect and/or client design
Remark : Submission Drawings must be followed local authorities checklist
Water Rec
1 Development Order (KM) Submission
i) To tabulate Water Demand based on SPAN Table and Highest Water Supply Level
ii) Please proceed on KM preconsult with HQ officer & submit all related documents to Planner for onward
Air Selangor KM online submission
2 Tapping Point and Pressure Head
i) Upon obtain Air Selangor KM approval, proceed with tapping point and pressure head online submission
to Air Selangor
ii) Please check with District officer on the actual tapping point location upon obtained official TP location
- This step is to check whether new water reticulation pipe involve road crossing or not
3 Water Rec Submission
i) To design water reticulation
- To provide hydrant pipeline
- Min 160mm HDPE pipe PN 12.5 shall be provided for low OGL level (<17.00m) to prevent corrosion
- Min 150mm Ductile Iron K9 or Mild Steel pipe shall be provided for higher OGL Level. Type of pipe
shall be referred to Air Selangor Officer
- Hydrant location shall be followed Approved Architectural Plan (Passive) by BOMBA
- To provide domestic pipeline
- Min 25mm Stainless Steel Pipe shall be provided. The actual size of SS pipe subject to water demand.
- To provide S bend with air valve inside green area or sump area for pipe crossing area
- To provide sluice valve at every different building block for maintenance purposes
- To provide scour valve with full bore at lowest location and every pipe end location
- To provide air valve at highest location
- Suction tank shall be provided if residual head less than 7.5m or highest water supply level more than 15m
from OGL
- Pressure reducing valve shall be provided if residual head more than 30m
- To design peak flow analysis
- For external reticulation network, it is 2.5 times of total water demand per day
- For external water pipe to suction tank & supply mains , it is 1.2 times of total water demand per day
- Residual head must be 7.5m and above
Remark : If proposed development lot already take into consideration during design stage of
reservoir/elevated water tank , then Residual head only required 4.5m and above
- Head loss must be less than 2m/1000m
- Velocity must be fall within 0.3m/s-2.0m/s
- To design average flow analysis (1.0 times of total water demand per day and 300gpm hydrant)
- Only one hydrant location put into analysis which is further point from tapping point
- Residual head must be 7.5m and above
- Head loss must be less than 15m/1000m
ii) To provide schematic diagram for water meter compartment
- Domestic Water Meter Compartment
- min 150mm clearance from left, right and rear side wall
- max 150mm clearance from front boundary line
- min 300mm clearance from upper wall
- For single layer, water meter stand pipe shall be 450(+-50)mm from slab
- For multi layer, water meter stand pipe shall be 450(+-50)mm from slab and additional 150(+-10mm) for
each additional layer
- Bulk Meter Compartment
- min 300mm clearance from left, right and rear side wall
- max 300mm clearance from front boundary line
- min 600mm clearance between domestic meter stand and hydrant meter stand
- The clear dimension bulk meter compartment shall be 4200mm width (min) and 1200mm depth (min)
iii) To prepare SSD Form, Surat Akujanji and SKP 10%
4 Site Inspection
- To pay for inspection fee (RM1000) and SKP 30% before inspection
i) Pipe Material Inspection (QT3) before pipe laying
ii) Pressure Test for external pipeline (QT4a) and internal pipeline (QT4b) after pipe laying
iii) Final Inspection for external pipeline (QT6a) after premix wearing course laying
After Final inspection,
- To pay Bank Guarantee (BG) over DLP and SKP 60%.
- Submit QT7 as notification of submission of BG
- Submit Form G5
iv) Hot Tapping
v) Flushing and Sterilising
- Submit QT10 for handing over process
- All above documentation must be compiled by Contractor/Consultant and submit to District for handing over
process
5 Issuance of QT 11 from Air Selangor HQ

Remark : Submission Drawings must be followed Air Selangor Standard


Remark : For other states, it shall be referred to related water agencies guildeline
Sewerage
1 To tabulate Population Equivalent (PE) based on SPAN Table
a) If PE more than 150 PE
i) If there has exisiting sewerage system (sewerage pipeline and STP) with sufficient allowable PE
- To design sewerage pipeline and connect to nearest existing manhole or existing sewerage pipe
by providing new additional manhole
ii) If there has exisiting sewerage system (sewerage pipeline and STP) with insufficient allowable PE
- To design sewerage pipeline and connect to nearest existing manhole or existing sewerage pipe
by providing new additional manhole
- To upgrade Existing STP by STP Specialist
ii) If there has no exisiting sewerage system (sewerage pipeline and STP)
- To allow for STP reserved area based on SPAN Table in overall layout
- STP shall be located at lower area
- STP shall be design and build by STP Specialist
Remark : IWK guideline stated that effluent not allowed to flow into OSD.
Therefore, it must be by pass OSD
- To design sewerage pipeline and connect to last new manhole before STP
b) If PE less than 150 PE
i) If there has exisiting sewerage system (sewerage pipeline and STP) with sufficient allowable PE
- To design sewerage pipeline and connect to nearest existing manhole or existing sewerage pipe
by providing new additional manhole
ii) If there has exisiting sewerage system (sewerage pipeline and STP) with insufficient allowable PE
- To design sewerage pipeline and connect to nearest existing manhole or existing sewerage pipe
by providing new additional manhole
- To upgrade Existing STP by STP Specialist
ii) If there has no exisiting sewerage system (sewerage pipeline and STP)
- To design for Small Sewerage Treatment System (SSTS) or Septic Tank
- SSTS or septic tank shall be located near to drain
- SSTS or septic tank Final Discharge pipe invert level shall be higher than receiving drain invert level
at least 300mm
- Please calculate required depth for receiving drain for its catchment area to prevent backflow.
- To obtain SSTS or septic tank lastest SPAN cert and CAD file from supplier
2 To design sewerage pipeline
i) For submission under SWA & SWC , it shall be using 150mm dia VCP pipe along apron area with
min 0.60m starting depth and 225mm dia VCP Pipe for road crossing area
ii) For submission under PDC, it shall be using min 225mm dia VCP pipe with min 1.20mm starting depth
below road level
- It shall be using DI pipe for sewerage hanging pipe crossing existing deep drain
iii) Maximum distance between manhole to manhole is 90m
iv) Velocity must be fall within 0.8m/s - 4.0m/s
- If there is deep existing sewerage manhole , use gentle slope to create swallower pipeline depth
and provide maximum 900mm drop for 450mm dia and below pipe
- For cost saving design, try to prevent using backdrop manhole
v) To check there is no crashing between drainage and sewerage pipe for crossing area
- minimum different level shall be summation of Sewerage Pipe outer diameter plus 150mm thick
for drain slab base
