OBJECTIVE

General Objective

The goal of BSN 2A group 5 is to conduct virtual research on intrapartum within a week.

During this time, the group aims to create a detailed case study focused on normal spontaneous

vaginal delivery. This case study will serve as a valuable resource for better understanding and

enhancing the management of such cases.

Specific Objective
Specifically, the group aims to
1. Analyze the factors influencing the onset of labor during intrapartum.

2. Evaluate the stages of labor and their impact on the intrapartum process.

3. Investigate the physiological changes occurring during normal spontaneous vaginal

delivery.

4. Examine the interventions that contribute to a successful intrapartum experience.

5. Explore the complications associated with intrapartum care and delivery.

6. Assess the role of healthcare professionals in facilitating a smooth intrapartum process.

7. Investigate the impact of maternal health conditions on intrapartum outcomes.

8. Examine the psychological aspects and emotional support needed during intrapartum

care.

B. FAMILY BACKGROUND

Mrs. D is 27 years old, a married, and a mother of 2 children. She is currently residing at

Purok 2, Balutakay, Hagonoy, Davao del Sur. Mrs. D belongs to an extended type of family.

Hence, she raises her children with her in laws while her husband is in abroad supporting

their family.

C. EFFECTS/EXPECTATION OF ILLNESS TOWARDS AND SELF

According to Mrs. D, she was happy that a new baby came to her life despite the

fact that her husband is in abroad working as a butcher. She is grateful because it’s her

second baby, and expect that her baby will be a healthy kid when it grows.

D. HISTORY OF PAST ILLNESS

According to Mrs. D there is no illness that she experiences for the past months.

She told us that in her husband’s side there is a hypertension in the family. And she also

told us that her grandfather is a diabetic person.

E. HISTORY OF PRESENT CONDITION

History of present condition: last December 06,2023 at 5:45 pm, the patient started to

experience labor in pain. Prior admission, Mrs. D complained of uterine contraction. The Age

of Gestation (AOG) is 39 5/7 weeks. Her Last Menstrual period was (LMP) March 01, 2023.

Her blood pressure that time was (___) mmHg. She was Examined by Gina _______ RM.

During the internal examination done by the midwife, it was found out that cervical dilation
was already at 10cm with rapture of membranes in cephalic position. Around 7:26 PM, she

delivered to a live baby girl.
