An ultramodern and extremely versatile range of facilities,
including VIM and EB furnaces, a number of ESR/VAR units,
hot and cold rolling mills, finishing units for annealing, blasting,
pickling, leveling, straightening, grinding and cutting lines
means ThyssenKrupp VDM is optimally equipped and prepared
to meet present and future market demands and challenges.
Tailored to the requirements of a robust production process, all
our equipment features state-of-the-art process data acquisition
for maximum productivity and reproducible product quality.
With the integrated production chain completed by our forging
plant, all major production steps are now carried out under our
own roof: an indispensable prerequisite for a stable manufacturing
process. This enables us to guarantee products of the highest
purity and homogeneity, optimum processability and flexible

ThyssenKrupp VDM offers a most complete variety of Nickel alloys suitable
for the Oil and Gas industry in the upstream and midstream applications.
Nickel alloys are among the most important
materials for critical components and are in
many cases subject to extreme loads. Ever
tighter specifications for the materials translate
into higher demands on people and the
manufacturing process. The entire production
chain is monitored by our quality manage-
ment system in line with international
guidelines and customer specifications.

Corrosion resistance in combination
with the long unit length of coiled
strip material is the prerequisite
for the manufacture of high quality
cables for use in subsea umbilicals.
For more than three decades
ThyssenKrupp VDM has been
supplying this important material
for subsea exploration applica-
tions to a demanding market.
Protection from corrosion is a prime application for
overlay welding with wire and strip. As a manufacturer
of these highly specialized products for corrosion
protection as well as for suitable joining techniques,
a significant proportion of R&D work is devoted to
welding technology. Wire is available on customized
spools as well as in drums for long lengths. It is put to
use in such welding processes as GTAW, GMAW, and
SAW in automatic and semi-automatic operations.
Bars for a variety of downhole applications including
electrical submersible pumps (ESP) are a focus of our
integrated forging unit along with all the necessary
cold forming devices for the production of reliable
quality with rapid availability.
Sheet and plate material for the manufacturing of
longitudinal welded tubes and pipes are available
hot- and cold-rolled and, depending on the dimensions
and alloy, in lengths of 36 feet / 12 metres.
