1. What is GAMABA?

"GAMABA" stands for Gawad sa Manlilikha ng Bayan, which translates to


the "National Living Treasures Award" in English. It is a prestigious recognition
given in the Philippines to individuals or groups who have demonstrated outstanding
skills and knowledge in traditional arts and crafts. The award is a way of honoring and
preserving the country's cultural heritage by acknowledging the expertise of
individuals who have contributed significantly to the practice and continuity of
traditional Filipino arts.
