ACTIVITY SHEETS IN PHILIPPINE HISTORY

1. Name a historical event you wish to study and why? Identify the primary and
secondary sources of that historical event.
- The historical even that I wish to study would be the declaration of Martial Law
under the presidency of Ferdinand Marcos, on September 21, 1972. Up until this
day, there are still controversies and debates about this historical occurrence. The
fact that there are conflicting views on the use of martial law motivates me to learn
more and conduct further research.
2. Write a short essay on the relevance of studying history in relations to your
course.
- By exploring how the past has affected our national and local relationships
between societies and individuals, studying history aids us in understanding and
addressing difficult challenges and conundrums. Understanding how past events
shaped current events is one of the benefits of studying history. Learning from the
past helps us understand who we are and how we got here, as well as how to
prevent mistakes in the future and steer society in better directions. It is only right
to fully commit to defending and serving our own as a criminologist who is
obligated to serve our beloved country. We used to be governed by other nations
due to a number of factors, including the fact that we lack military force and
human resources. We are standing and enjoying freedom now thanks to the
tenacity and bravery of our forefathers. As soon as I start working for the
government, I have a duty to defend and uphold our nation, just as our forefathers
did.
