Synthesis Essay Prompt

Crafting a synthesis essay on the given prompt can be a formidable task, demanding a fusion of
critical thinking, analytical skills, and effective communication. The challenge lies not only in
comprehending the various sources provided but also in synthesizing divergent ideas to construct a
coherent and persuasive argument.

The process initiates with a meticulous analysis of the prompt, dissecting its nuances and extracting
the core themes. Subsequently, one must navigate through a maze of sources, each offering unique
perspectives, theories, and evidence. The complexity intensifies as the essayist endeavors to identify
connections, patterns, and conflicts among the diverse sources.

Moreover, synthesizing the information demands a delicate balance – avoiding the pitfall of mere
summarization while ensuring a seamless integration of ideas. It requires the finesse to construct a
narrative that seamlessly weaves together disparate threads into a unified tapestry of thought. This
process often necessitates multiple revisions to refine the synthesis, harmonize conflicting
viewpoints, and maintain a logical flow.

The synthesis essay also calls for a keen understanding of the rhetorical strategies employed in the
sources. Crafting a cohesive argument requires not only addressing the explicit content but also
deciphering the implicit intentions, biases, and persuasive techniques of each source. This demands a
heightened awareness of rhetoric, tone, and the intended audience.

Furthermore, the synthesis essay prompts often touch upon complex, multifaceted issues that require
a nuanced and sophisticated approach. It is not merely about regurgitating information but about
constructing an original viewpoint, supported by a synthesis of evidence that elevates the discourse
beyond a mere recitation of facts.

In conclusion, tackling a synthesis essay prompt involves navigating through a labyrinth of

information, extracting key elements, discerning connections, and presenting a cohesive argument. It
is an intellectual challenge that demands not only comprehensive research skills but also the ability to
synthesize diverse perspectives into a coherent and compelling narrative.

State Fidelity In The Odyssey
Odysseus, the main character of The Odyssey, is a man of great courage who is
married to Penelope, Queen of Ithaca. Even though it is clear that Odysseus is married
to Penelope, he is involved in intimate relations with a few goddesses on his journey
home to Ithaca from the Trojan War. For example, regardless of Odysseuslonging to
return home, he is tempted first by Calypso, spending eight years imprisoned on her
island, and ultimately remaining true to Penelope in his heart. Also, he spends a year
with Circe, a seductress, in order to liberate his men from living as swine. Furthermore,
Odysseus faithfulness to Penelope is almost compromised when he and his men pass the
Sirens women who entice men to their death utilizing their beautiful voices. Additionally,
Greek and Christian marriagestandards are distinctly different. Christians believe that
marriage is a sacrament, or union between one man and one woman that is blessed by
the church, while pagans hold to a belief of self uniting marriage known as handfasting a
historical term for a betrothal or wedding that is sometimes acknowledged as a temporary
engagement. This paper will explain how Odysseus remained faithful to his... Show more

revealed. Throughout the epic, there have been many examples of times where
Odysseus is tempted by seductresses. He has his first encounter with Calypso, where
he is bound by love and temptations for eight years. Next, he remains with Circe on
Aeaea for a year in order to liberate his men from living as swine. Furthermore, he is
seduced by the beautifully singing Sirens, and is tied to a mast of the ship so he stays
sane. To conclude, Odysseus stays faithful to his wife, Penelope, throughout the epic and
reunites with her after more than twenty years on his
Buffalo Soldiers Research Paper
Buffalo Soldiers were made up of former slaves, freemen and black Civil War Soldiers.
Buffalo Soldiers got their names from the Indians because of the way they looked.
Their short curly hair and their dark faces reminded Indians of buffalo. Another reason
they were called Buffalo Soldiers is because of their fierce way of fighting reminded
the Indians of the way the buffalo fought. The last reason they were called the Buffalo
Soldiers was because they often wore thick coats made of buffalo hide in the cold of
winter. In 1867 there were four black regiments: the 9th and 10th Cavalryunits and the
24th and 25th Infantry units called the Buffalo Soldiers. The first black regiment to get
the name of Buffalo Soldiers was the 10th cavalry.

roads and military structures. One of the first black man to graduate from West Point
was Henry O. Flipper. He then became the commander of the 10th regiment at Fort Sill,
which lay Indian Territory. The oldest Buffalo Soldier ever was Mark Matthews who died

equipment. As settlers moved into the Southwest, the black regiments had to fight
against outlaws and Apaches. In 1886, during the Apache Wars, the 10th Regiment
pursued Geronimo into the Pitino Mountains of Mexico. In addition to controlling the
Indians of the Plains and Southwest, the soldiers policed cattle rustlers and built roads

What do these circumstances imply?
Once you figure step 1. .2 out, use your imagination to connect to the character.
*Audition tip: When preparing for an audition, don t be nervous because you re worried
about acting the part...
Remember I m not nervous because I am this character; I feel its emotions, its struggles,
its love and hate. The most important thing when waiting for your audition, is not
whether you re going to land the part or not, is to prepare yourself to become this
character!

Anytime a noun is mentioned circle it, you need to remember it and really make a
relation to it! For example: like the Probation Officer in script #3, Who is the probation

Self analytical review:
My audition wasn t believable; I think during the middle of my journey it looks like I ve
become apathetic, especially during a time where I should ve shown how much I wanted
this girl.
When I got out of my character (when I disconnected) I stopped listening because I
became nervous: like I stopped acting and all the sudden was aware that I had all these
stage lights cameras on me.
I didn t use my environment.
When I m re watching film, I couldn t see myself being authentic in those moments, like
that s not how I would act; knowing myself, I think I d come off as more shy and
awkward during this date.
I got lost in the page.

My Criticism: Take everything personally! What s your need! If you re feeling

overwhelmed with remembering the technicalities of preparing for your cold read, as
well as taking stage direction, just focus on the need. Knowing your need is the most
important thing that can help you prepare for an audition.
Maybe to help you better associate yourself with the character, remember three memories
