A Fire accident has occurred.

This is an exigency notification to prevent similar fire accidents.

Ignition of combustibles due to sparks during bolt grinding

1. Date and time: Thursday, May.18, 2023, around 17:38

2. Location: INNRP1, Neemrana Plant, India
3. Degree of damage: Human/ None, Physical/ Ducting pipe melt. Dia. 150 mm & length 550 mm
4. Accident description：
・While a worker was polishing a steel bolt with a deburring machine, a fire occurred inside the dust collection
duct.
5. Cause：
・Sparks generated during polishing entered the dust collection duct of the deburring machine and ignited the
accumulated dust such as aluminum dust.

【Basic Points to Consider】

・Be sure to check the work instructions before starting work.
・Before handling fire, make sure there are no combustibles around.

①Please reconfirm whether the cleaning frequency of the ducts installed in the workplace is defined.
②When inspecting the workplace, please check if there are any combustible materials around the fire
handling workplace and equipment.
③Be sure to check whether the same work that leads to fire is being done at other sites.
