Persuasive Abortion Essays

Writing a persuasive essay on the topic of abortion can be a challenging endeavor, as it involves
navigating a highly sensitive and contentious subject matter. Crafting a compelling argument requires
a deep understanding of the diverse perspectives surrounding abortion, ranging from ethical and
moral considerations to legal and medical aspects.

One of the primary challenges is the emotional nature of the topic, which often elicits strong opinions
and personal beliefs. Addressing these emotions while maintaining a logical and persuasive tone can
be delicate, requiring a careful balance between empathy and argumentation.

Moreover, the abundance of existing literature and varying viewpoints on abortion necessitates
thorough research to ensure a well-informed and comprehensive essay. It's crucial to engage with a
diverse range of sources, from academic studies and medical journals to ethical discussions and legal
frameworks.

Organizing and structuring the essay pose additional difficulties. Striking the right balance between
presenting factual information, citing credible sources, and developing a coherent argument can be
intricate. The writer must carefully choose their words to convey the intended message without
inadvertently alienating readers with differing opinions.

Furthermore, anticipating counterarguments and effectively refuting them is an essential aspect of

crafting a persuasive essay. This requires a nuanced understanding of opposing viewpoints and the
ability to present a compelling case against them.

In conclusion, writing a persuasive essay on the topic of abortion is a challenging task that demands
careful research, empathy, and skillful argumentation. It requires the ability to navigate a complex
landscape of emotions, ethics, and legality while presenting a well-reasoned and persuasive case.

For Gay Marriage
Expository Writing
Analyzing a Text #2
Molly O Brien In the Boston Globe newspaper editorial For Gay Marriage the editors
argue that gay marriage should be legalized. Throughout the article the Globe Editors
mention the expanding circle of rights, the circle includes the civil rights movement,
gender equality, rights for the disabled, 18 year olds to vote, single mothers and adoptive
parents. It is apparent that the right for gay marriage should occur ( Globe A18).These
advances have occurred with the help of court cases. The 1967 supreme court case
and Loving V. Virginia Court rulings ruled that the ban on interracial marriage was
unconstitutional ( Globe A18). Along with the court precedents The Globe uses
Hillary Goodridge as an example when she was unable to see her newly born daughter
in the hospital because she was not married to her partner of 15 years. (A18). The
Editors discuss opposing reasons why gay marriage should not be legalized by the
Massachusetts Attorney General. One argument the attorney general makes is that
marriage is, ...A social institution designed to promote child bearing and rearing
(A18). The Globe the refutes this statement because same sex couples are not denied
the right to adopt as well as they do the everyday things an opposite sex couple would
do (A18). In the Boston Globe article editors use court precedents and emotional stories
to argue that gay marriage should be legalized. One form of evidence the Globe uses to
support that gay

The Responsibility Of Socrates And Conviction In Plato s...
Oedipus Tyrannus is set in Thebes, a city falling to ruin from a plague that ravaged the
city. King Oedipus is told that the city will continue to suffer until the murderer of the
previous king is found and punished for his crime. Oedipus swears to uncover the
murderer s identity and to reprimand him. Completely ignorant to the face that he is the
killer, Oedipuspersistently pursues the truth until he learns his guilt.

However in Plato s Crito, the dialogue takes place in Socrates prison cell where he
awaits execution, he is visited by his old friend Crito, who has made preparations to
help Socrates flee prison to the safety by bribing officials however Socrates seems quite
unwilling to flee from his imprisonment, and so Crito presents as many arguments as he

And if I knowingly harbor their guilt within my own walls, I shall not exempt myself
from the curse that I have called upon them. (Sophacles, 1970).

In Plato s Crito, Socrates is portrayed as an autonomous moral agent completely

faithful to justice. Crito, an old friend of Socrates tries to persuade Socrates to flee
from his imprisonment by allowing him to bribe the guards into releasing him,
however Socrates is persistent against fleeing. Crito goes on to explain to Socrates that
by accepting his sentence he is allowing his enemies to triumph over him and harm his
family and friends, as well as the society and city the polis. Thus by doing so neglects
his obligations to the collective. Nonetheless Socrates disagrees, as he explains to Crito:
When someone has made an agreement with someone else, and it is just, must he keep
to it or betray it? ... If we leave here without having persuaded the city, are we doing
someone a harm and those whom we should least of all harm or not? And are we
keeping to the just agreements we made, or not? (Plato,

supplements which led to the proposal for managing clinical disorders like depression
.For example ashwagandha treats anxiety and brahmi is being used for the cognitive
problems while colostrinin for dementia4 and ginseng has been successful in treating the
sexual dysfunction .(1 4) Curcumin, is one of the ingredients present in turmeric. It is
also an unconventional treatment that has been studied in the management of

Depression is one of the most common health issues and it affects twenty one percent of
total population in the world. (9,10).The major and primary cause of depression has been
found to be imbalance in the physiology of monoaminergic neurotransmission through
serotonin (11) .However , present studies put forward that most of the depression cases
are correlated with systemic and biological imbalances.(12)As a result this lead to the
study of how to deal with the imbalances. For example studying the effect of anti
inflammatory on immuno inflammations (13) and effect of antioxidants on increasing
antioxidant defences and lower free radical damage. (14,15).Despite the fact these
pharmaceutical agents have antidepressant effect on monoaminergics, evidences support
that they can also alter immuno inflammation, decrease oxidative stress, intensify
neurotrophic actions and influence HPA activity (16 18). Even though there are wide
variety of drugs available for treating depression, the search for safer drugs leads to the
path of research in Curcumin. This compound has a potential effect in treating depression
without any adverse side effects. (19)According to Xu et al curcumin is the ingredient of
curcuma longa and has proven antioxidant effect and neuroprotective effect. (20,21).
Chinese medicine has been found to use the curcumin in
The Salem Witch Trials
Human beings always have been curious creatures. We are a species that is always
searching for answers to unexplainable events. Take aliens for example. To us, aliens
may or may not exist (depending on your individual belief of course). Yet we still take
such an interest in them that we continuously search for answers and proof of alien.
Now that we have modern day technology, we can attain proof of alien life form
somewhere deep in outer space. But given the date 1692 in New England, if we were
to even come in contact with aliens it would have been considered some supernatural
phenomena, and even cause quite a bit of hysteria. That is what happened to the
puritans in Salem village during the Salem Witch Trials, in Massachusetts, in the year
1962. The puritans of Salem village were extremely paranoid, and they believed that if
something can t be explained then it had the devils influence. So when a group of
Salem girls spoke up about the devil and witches, the villagers of Salem went into a
panicked frenzy. Truth of the matter is that there were no witches in Salem nor was
the devil at war against Salem; the Salem Witch Trials were only a result of endless
lies, conspiracies, and side effects of an illness. Puritans first arrived in the new world in
order to escape religious persecution from the king in England . The puritans that
established Massachusetts were a group of business men who wanted to gain the right to
govern themselves . The puritan belief in New England
