Gucci s Use Of Gender Roles In Advertising
Gender roles have been a part of society since the beginning of society itself. Men are
supposed to be bigger, stronger, smarter, they should go out and support their family.
Women are meant to fragile and they should stay at home to raise the children. Though
this idea is not as present as it once was, and many people, especially women, continue
to step away from that idea, it is still present especially in advertising. Gucci s 2011
advertisement for their Guilty cologne is no exception to this. The advertisement features
Chris Evans, known for his roles in the Captain America films, and Evan Rachel Wood,
known for her roles in Westworld. The two stand naked against a black background. The
cologne bottle is pictured in the bottom right corner of the image. The title is above their
heads in bold white letters and says Gucci Guilty: Pour Homme. They use these gender
roles, and other common societal ideas to convey their message that the use of the
cologne will not only make it s target audience more attractive but it will spice up their
life and get them pretty women. Chris Evans is the first thing that the audience sees
when looking at the given advertisement. He represents the role of men in society
perfectly. His piercing blue eyes provide a stark contrast with the rest of the image. He
s looking directly into the camera as well which exudes a level of confidence that most
men can only wish to have. Viewers will be left wondering what they could do to

Argumentative Essay Gay
Have you ever walked through the halls and heard the term gay or fag followed by a
couple giggles? When these terms are thrown out there no one understands how insulting
they may be. Many may use the words without even thinking twice about it. For most of
us it just slips out since it s an easy, short and funny sounding insult. It s almost a habit,
right? None of this is justification for accidentally using these offensive terms! To begin,
the main conflict is that the term gayisn t even used in the proper sense! I m sick of
being tired and wanting to stay home when the boys want to go out because all I hear
is Why re you being gay and staying in? or That s so gay Ahmad come out with us. .
There is nothing gay about staying in. What my friends mean to say is Why re you
being so lazy, lame? . Out of the entire English vocabulary we chose to use the most
politically incorrect terms in a complete wrong concept just to try to prove our point!

It s not okay to follow up your misuse of these derogatory terms with I didn t mean it
like that . Not only does it show ignorance, but it also shows a concerning lack of
intellect.
Our biggest issue is what you re implying when you use these terms! In these cases the
terms are thrown at each other demeaning and often insulting manner. How often do
you hear This guy is so good at hockey, he s such a homo! . Now of course we don t
have to absolutely diminish these terms because they still have meaning ; you can t

It is very important for the audience to have an understanding of the message the writer
is trying to say. Singman s article is full of different techniques which make her article
intelligible for a majority of her audience. The techniques being used make the
argument of the article more effective After writing this essay it has helped me to view
writing differently. The way we put words together can make a huge difference to your
audience. This is the reason why we need to be for careful with our word choice,
depending on what we want our audience to take from our writing. We also need to

Pros And Cons Of Being A Trucker
Being a trucker means spending days, weeks, and even months away from your friends
and family. You are often deployed on cross country drives with only a few hours notice
sometimes even less and you spend a portion of every assignment driving on some long
stretch of road in the middle of nowhere with nobody around for miles. When you re in a
situation like that, the last thing you want is to breakdown with no means of restarting
your truck.

Having a decent set of tools stashed in your truck is a great way to protect yourself if
you breakdown in the middle of nowhere, but it means nothing if you don t have a
quality case in which to store those tools. Failure to keep your tools in a quality tool box
will almost definitely result in their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With a weight of just 11.4 pounds when empty, it is perfect for truck drivers who don t
want to slow themselves down by adding to the load they re already carrying. It will also
come in handy should you ever have to board a freight ferry to complete an overseas
delivery.

The Yaheetech Aluminum Tool Box generally sells for under $70, which makes it the
least expensive tool box on this list.

Cons

It s pretty difficult to find any major issues with the Yaheetech Aluminum Tool Box,
which is a testament to the expertise of the brand s design team. It should be pointed out,
however, that a number of Yaheetech customers have complained about the walls of the
box being too thin, making it susceptible to wind and rain.

Summary

A great truck tool box doesn t have to break the bank, as the Yaheetech Aluminum Tool
Box proves beyond a shadow of a doubt. While it doesn t offer the storage or security of
some larger, more expensive tool boxes, it promises to protect your tools against the most
common threats, such as jumps, sudden stops, and

The National Impact of Barbie Dolls on Young Girls Beauty standards differ around
the world. In the Maasai tribes of Africa, having piercings and colorful intricate
jewelry is considered beautiful. In China, women try and avoid sunlight in hopes of
having the lightest, fairest skin. In Mexico, it is considered beautiful to have long black
wavy hair. However, the standard of beauty that seems to be consistent around the world
is having a thin, tight figure and a proportionate face. This standard has been prevalent
in our world for decades and the idea has been passed down from generation to
generation. Unfortunately, girls are exposed to the typical standards of beauty at a young

However, in reality, the body proportions of Barbie are unreachable and unhealthy. In
the article Does Barbie make girls want to be thin, a quote from psychologists in the
American Psychological Association reads, The ultrathin female beauty ideal she
embodies has been linked with the extraordinary prevalence of negative body image
and unhealthy eating patterns among girls and women, (Thompson 283). Referring to
the Barbie doll, Thompson makes it clear that the image of the Barbie dolls gives
young girls a negative self body image and can result in many young girls having
eating disorders. The constant goal to have a thin, tiny figure with long legs and a
bigger chest is simply unachievable. In the article Does Barbie make girls want to be
thin, people were able to use anthropometry to use Barbie s body proportions, and
compare them to the realistic image of a woman. A conclusion reached by Rintala and
Mustajoki of the British Medical Journal revealed, Were Barbie a flesh and blood
woman, her waist would be 39% smaller than that of anorexic patients, and her body
weight would be so low that she would not be able to menstruate, (Rintala and
